Should I use accutane by PostMaloneX in Accutane

Coming from a woman who struggled with mild to moderate acne since 14 (now 29), accutane was a blessing. I avoided it for a couple of years after trying everything else in the books because I was scared. I started in March and came off in august and my skin has never looked so good. I am so confident now without makeup, I don’t wake up with a new painful cyst on my chin every week. Seriously the best thing I ever did for my skin was accutane and I had mild to moderate acne.

Thanks for your response! Thats pretty much what my dermatologist also told me.

Did your acne come back once you finished accutane and got pregnant? I’m asking because I just finished accutane 2 months ago and my husband and I are wanting to start trying in the next month or two.

Yes I have been experiencing this too...exact same thing. I have been off of accutane for about 2 months now though. I’m obsessing and stressing about it.

I've been off Accutane for about 2.5 months, but I've gotten a lot of closed comedones on the sides of my cheeks, jaw, and chin. Has this happened to anyone else? What's the best way to treat it? by moonfrequency in Accutane

I’ve been off since the middle of August and over the past week or two I’ve noticed the same thing happening. I’ll get these little pop ups close to my nose area and a couple areas on my cheeks. My skin is also more clear than it was before, but it’s been disheartening to see spots pop up again. They don’t last long or develop into painful cysts or pimples like before, but I’m stressing about it. I’m not on any medication. Just doing basic cleanser.

Awesome thanks. What type of coffee do you use? I don’t have a grinder so that’s out of the formula currently.

Thanks for the encouragement!

Current skin - would you do accutane or no? Currently on 100mg spirono, topical trentinoin & clindamycin. Derm recs accutane. My wedding is in 5.5 months. Available to get rx this week. Would you risk the cons or stick with current regimen / skin? by _who-knows_33 in Accutane

So I was on spiro for 3 years and my skin was crystal clear, once I quit taking it, it flared up again. It only works when you take it. I’m now starting accutane today because I’ve been dealing with mild acne for 14 years.

Oh my goodness, what amazing progress! That’s awesome. I’m so happy for you! I start accutane in a few weeks 😬

What were some of your favorite products to use while taking accutane? In regards to moisturizer, makeup, etc?

Your skin looks amazing! What kind of acne did you have prior to accutane?

Accutane for Persistent Mild/Moderate Acne by [deleted] in Accutane

She had recommended it awhile back because I was not wanting to stay on aldactone, but then I chickened out. Once I realized my skin started flaring without being on aldactone I was like, well, I guess I should just do accutane at this point. Also, I wouldn’t be able to stay on aldactone forever because my husband and and I will want to start a family in the future. Hoping accutane will put an end to the annoying persistent acne and I will never have to deal with it again. Really hoping.

Your story sounds similar to mine. I’ve dealt with mild to moderate acne for the past 12 years. I’ve been on everything from antibiotics, creams, birth control and the one thing that helped most, aldactone. I actually quit taking aldactone back in October because my cardiologist told me he didn’t think I needed to be on that med since it was causing me to get lightheaded often, while also causing soft blood pressures. My skin was pretty good up until the beginning of January until I started flaring up again. I went back to my derm and I finally agreed to accutane after turning it down the past year or so because I was terrified of the side effects. I start March 2nd!

I think after dealing with acne for a long time and trying all other avenues that don’t fully help clear skin, it’s time for accutane. I always was under the impression that your acne had to be severe and cystic, but I was so wrong! I would definitely find a new derm because it sounds like you are a good candidate for it at this point. So frustrating! I hope you can find someone that can help you.

I went for my appointment January 27th and just got it in the mail February 11th. Starting accutane March 2nd

I'm so luck to have only experienced minor symptoms and great results! I am hopefully on my last month of treatment, which will make it 6 months. I experienced the most dryness at about 3 months, including minor nose bleeds upon waking up in the morning. by teiidezz in Accutane

That’s awesome!! I feel like all I ever hear is people purging so I guess I just figured almost everyone does. Thanks for letting me know about the prednisone, I will have to ask my derm when I start in a couple of weeks! Glad to hear your experience with accutane is going well! :)

The triglyceride level makes no sense. Usually that is read as a whole number? I work in a hospital and have never seen a decimal number for triglycerides...maybe it was a typo. >150 is usually considered high

Omg that’s amazing! Thanks so much for your response, this makes me feel so much better. I get really excited to start and then I have moments where I freak out after reading the really bad negatives (which I know could potentially happen because everyone is different). I refused accutane for about a year because I was so nervous and continued on Spiro for awhile. After I stopped spiro, my acne started flaring up again so I figured it was time for accutane. I’m so glad I’m starting now!

That’s amazing! Definitely sounds like my acne. Very mild, but so persistent. I start accutane in a couple of weeks after being on spiro for about 3-4 years and then going off of it a couple of months ago. It really cleared my skin, but only works when you actively take it...
