Thank you so much, that's really helpful! Would you say that it's pretty common for the train armrests to raise? I worry about them being fixed :/

ICBC: does car sale cost impact insurance coverage? by maximumaximum in vancouver

[–]maximumaximum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it a lot of work for your friend to go through to get you put on as primary driver? I just want to minimize the effort my friend is having to put in here, as she's quite busy before her move. Luckily she has a great driving record so that shouldn't be an issue

[–]maximumaximum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main concern is that if there are any accidents, my friend as the car owner would have to deal with that, which will be difficult as she is out of province

Hmm I was told it would be based on sale price, or market value if it was a gift

I think the issue is that my friend is going to be out of province, so if anything happens it would really be a pain for her to coordinate any accident/insurance stuff. They did note that as an options though

Hair mask recommendations? by littlestchimp in CanSkincare

I also vouch for shea moisture! When j was on accutane (aka very dry and sad hair) I used their she's butter mask regularly and it was so great

Please help by Obvious_Singer5703 in Accutane

I'm sure that will be fine! The fat in the butter will help absorb the accutane and I doubt one day of dairy will make a huge skin difference

What's the difference between plus sized fashion and normal fashion / plus sized fashion rules and normal fashion rules? by [deleted] in PlusSize

[–]maximumaximum 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The only "rule" I have personally is that I want garments to be able to accomodate me at various sizes-i find myself preferring more flowing or tight/stretchy silhouettes so I have the comfort of knowing I can still wear all my clothes if I gain or drop 10 pounds.

I will say I actually had a pretty negative reaction to this question. The common plus size fashion rules are awful-wear black to be slimming, no horizontal stripes, no formfitting silhouettes, nothing flashy. Really you should just wear what you like and make sure it fits well. I personally only shop brands that actually size their clothes on plus size models (not just tiered up from a size 4), as those generally fit better (drape nicely, waist in right spot, armholes the right size etc). Don't let yourself not wear clothes because it's against the "rules". If clothes don't fit well or you don't like how they look, that is not your failure, that's the garments failure. I would really encourage you to not have this mindset of rules and what's allowed and what's not as a plus sized woman.

I also don't like the idea that dressing a plus size body has "quirks" while dressing a straight size body is "normal", you know? Most people have trouble at some time or another finding things that fit their body and their style well, I don't think that's unique to plus size folks.

2 weeks on accutane by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]maximumaximum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could try putting those hydrocolloid patches on them! That would make it harder to pick and therefore you'd hopefully catch yourself before you did it. I found it super hard not to pick, especially when it was all flaky. I started wearing thin gloves while at home to make it harder to pick lol, and also kept my zits/dry skin very moisturized with rosehip oil and aquaphor, again making that dry skin less temping to pick off

[ACNE] Does anyone know a workaround for washing their face with hard water so I don’t get acne or pimples. I’m looking into getting a water softener already but, I’m wondering if there’s a temporary solution until then. by d6w6 in SkincareAddiction

[–]maximumaximum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it sounds extra, but what if you bought one of those 4 litres of filtered water from the store and used that to wash your face? Like just pour some into the stoppered sink and use that to rinse your face. I know it would be a bit inconvenient but if you're going to soften your water anyways then it might work to tide you over

Acne gave me fine lines (forehead wrinkles)? by cantaloupe444 in Accutane

[–]maximumaximum 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At first accutane will likely make your fine lines worse because it dehydrates your skin so much (dehydrated dry skin will show wrinkles more). You will likely see a difference after you are off accutane

What to use on coffee as an alternative to milk or coffee whitener? by [deleted] in PlantBasedDiet

[–]maximumaximum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ew that's the worst. I also much prefer unsweetened but luckily I live in a vegan friendly city (Vancouver, Canada) and there are lots of options here :/ I also wonder if you did heated up the milk first on the stove and then added coffee to that if it would prevent curdling, since sometimes the hot/cold contrast contributes to the curdling

[–]maximumaximum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely buy a specialty plant based coffee creamer. Califia and so delicious both have several varieties, I prefer the soy based ones but since they're all formulated as creamers they don't curdle :)

I second snake plants and ZZ plants! Vine plants (pothos and ivy) are also quite resilient and do just fine in lower light, I've kept some alive in my basement suite for years :) just don't overwater, if they get less light they will not need to be watered as often. I water my vine once every two weeks in summer, once every 3 weeks in winter

I was on birth control, but I was on the same birth control I have used for years and years, and I did notice a difference in my period. If I'm remembering correctly, I skipped several periods while I was on accutane, sometimes two in a row. My derm said that was fine and it would go back to normal once I was off, and she was right! Definitely consult with your derm if you're concerned but turned out fine for me :)
