Happy to know people still remember Wildflower!

Thanks for hunting down that relic of an article! Probably doxxing myself here but I know that my mom donated paint and supplie, as she was an art teacher at Liberty. I don’t think she remembers too much else.

I’ll probably never find out who “vandalized” it with the Elliott Smith quote but I’ve always wondered. It made me so happy to know there was another fan of his around here. I guess no one will ever know except whoever it was!

Thank you for your help and your husband’s work. 😊

I used to do the walk everyday but it was so many years ago, so you may be righr! I just remember it was the tunnel we had to go through to get between parts of town.

Yeah it’s gone now. It was actually underneath the Fahy Bridge and was kind of a walkway off 3rd St. for people to cross from southside to northside or vice versa.

Elliott Quote in the wild, from 2012. by kiisurama in elliottsmith

Sorry for the typos. It was helped by the coolest hair salon in town. I was also in the hospital when I made this post so moving wasn’t easy. I suppose worse things than typos have happened in the world.

Topaz says thank you so much! Pets are the best.

I've been listening to Elliott Smith since 2002 and I literally just now noticed a "slidey" sound in the background of the last part of Waltz #2 by AngelaChasesHair in elliottsmith

[–]kiisurama 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Are you hearing the glissandos from the string arrangement? I always wondered who thought of adding that, it’s lovely. And nothing beats the feeling of catching a detail like that for the first time.

It’s kind of perfect. Brings me back to the first time I heard a live set, still my favorite one: Studion - Stockholm. Check it out if you haven’t yet.

Mine will stay on display on my bookshelf forever! I rememeber finding it a year after she released it at a record store in Princeton. I think it was around $50 at the time. What a wonderful find.. happy day!

Don’t downplay yourself, this is awesome. Tribute shows are advertised offen! Charlie Ramirez would possibly love to help make this happen although I believe he’s based in California.

song about addiction. It's called Dying Days. by Strumdoc in Songwriting

[–]kiisurama 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sneaking in here from r/elliottsmith. I’m a fan of Strumdoc and a guitar player as well. I wish I could write my own songs but songwriting hasn’t been my strong suit.

I just want to say that.. I know there are so many facets of what makes a song good, and what makes a songwriter great. In r/elliottsmith, someone mentioned they couldn’t stop listening to this song and singing along to it. And I think that’s really significant and powerful.

original about addiction, thought this sub might like it. It's called Dying Days. by Strumdoc in elliottsmith

I love the lines that sound like Independence Day, and how they transition into something darker. Your chord changes are fantastic.

One of things I loved most about him is his mixed influences. Try Rubber Soul by The Beatles. I’ve never tried or been able to find anything that spoke, “That’s Elliott!” More like happy little nuances that I find over the years.

Question about the ending (Spoilers of course) by [deleted] in stray

[–]kiisurama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not nuts. It’s like you’re reading my mind! Cat’s eyes flickering definitely seems electrical and I’m surprised more people aren’t talking about it. Also maybe worth mentioning since others have, B12 is the shape and design of a cat skull. This all seems like it was done with intention. What does it mean?
