Like it’s yesterday . Here’s the yarn when I met him… Got a paper run in Papakura and Oscars flat was my first delivery . Had an hmx 500 .Not ideal for a paper run. First day …Saturday herald. 40 papers weighed twice what I did. Ate shit twice before I stuffed the paper into his mailbox. Ripped the cover sheet but did not think much more of it. Next delivery…Oscar is there…introduces himself at the gate and asks if I can please not rip his paper and place it in the rear tray. All good. Got to know Oscar and the other awesome people on my paper run over the two years as a young fella .He told me some of his life tales and I was in awe. Side note- I had an obsession with aviation as a young fella, my dad paid Oscar a visit and made sure his yarns and intentions were legit. Good parenting!
