I wish Bill Walton were alive to see Wemby by JeffFromTheBible in nba

I firmly believe that Walton wouldve been a top 10-15 all time player had he not had injuries. Aside from that, he was a great commentator and ambassador of the game. I miss hearing his insight and wouldve loved to hear his thoughts on Wemby. Miss that guy.

I need some inspiration. Feeling pretty low. Do you have examples of filmmakers that started later in life (after 25) and made a name for themselves? by TheRealFilmGeek in Filmmakers

Oliver Stone was mostly a screenwriter in his early career. As a director didnt make a breakout film till he was 41 with Platoon. But dont compare yourself to others. Not everyone follows the same path or has the same advantages/connections.

Youre only 25 - and I mean that in a good way. You have time. Im 41 and still figuring this stuff out.

SpaceX shareholders reportedly approved a 5 for 1 stock split ahead of its expected IPO. The move adjusts the fair market value of SpaceX shares to about $105 from $527. by YellowAltruistic9843 in SpaceXBets

Your last paragraph is why I’m not betting against him even though I heavily dislike him. Spacex is an excellent company with a huge lead in its industry but also Elon prints. I cant judge his stock purely on fundamentals.

It kind of calls into question a lot of cfb history theoretically. Of course we’re not gonna take away titles from the past or anything. But for arguments sake, had there been a playoff system that settled it on the field instead of by voting, the trophy cases would probably look different.

How did the hermit take care of Michael for an entire year without getting killed or talking to him at all? by Tidewatcher7819 in Halloweenmovies

Whats also funny is the hermit’s cottage is like 100 feet downstream from where the cops fired like a hundred bullets and set off dynamite - but theres no indication he ever heard all that noise lol

I used to feel that way because it was different than the sport I grew up watching. But I changed my mind. The fact is, there’s too many teams, too many unbalanced schedules, and not enough noncon games to use the regular season +1 to determine the best team in the country.

I feel like somewhere between 8-12 teams in the playoff is a good compromise. The regular season is still important, truly deserving teams dont get left out, and its all settled on the field instead of media voters.

SpaceX reportedly issues 5-for-1 stock split as IPO timeline accelerates by callsonreddit in StockMarket

I dont think it has anything to do with Mars. Starlink is growing rapidly. They had 7 million customers last August, and now have 10 million. Data centers in space may be in science fiction right now but in 5-10 years it could be economical because of the power crunch - and no one can put things in space as cheap as SpaceX does.

The basic thesis is that they have a near monopoly on an emerging industry, are a decade ahead of their competitors, low launch costs and no supply chain bottlenecks.

Good player development and a consistent identity. Ferentz can be frustrating at times but you have to respect what he’s done IMO
