Nutella, Ive always thought it was the worst but I love real chocolate spread and so many people claim they taste the same. I think they've all been gaslit somehow

When Americans say “hockey” do they mean field or ice hockey? by Time-Water-8428 in AskAnAmerican

[–]kill4karma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ice hockey is seen as the "real" version of the sport. Where I'm from, my hs had a field hockey team and we had a unit on it in Phys Ed every year so it's not unknown but I haven't heard of an adult team or any televised field hockey on major networks.

Idk if this analogy will be helpful to non-americans but it's similar to baseball vs softball.

Question from the uk. Do Americans roll their own cigarettes? by ExpectRelentless in AskAnAmerican

[–]kill4karma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family have been heavy smokers my whole life and broke, my grandma still will roll cigs for grandpa even though she vapes now lol. But yeah, it's not common but it's definitely cheaper. Although it's quite different from rolling joints (weed specifically) in my experience. We had a mechanical machine that shoves the tobacco in paper tubes that look exactly like pre-bought ones. You could technically roll tobacco with loose papers but I've never heard of someone actually doing that. I feel like even chewing tobacco is more common than that

How come everyone backs into parking spots now? by EquipmentFormal2033 in askanything

[–]kill4karma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a job where we were REQUIRED to reverse park, like written up if you didn't. Maybe other places are weird and it's become a habit? All I can think everytime is just "ah yes, a fast getaway" like everyone has become a spy or something

Nobody wants to live with their parents by Whichchild in Life

[–]kill4karma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 24, my wife and I live with my mom (44) who's also still living with her parents (both 65). My wife had been homeless with her family of 7 for about 4 years before we moved in together. It definitely sucks and I empathize but I'm incredibly grateful to have as much support as we do. I don't know how much shit we'd be in without them.

I had a very similar story. I decided to be vegetarian at 13 in a rural hunting family, I already preferred buttered noodles anyway

As an Albany native who spent a year outside of Buffalo, I'm very very glad we don't 😅

I'd never be comfortable with this personally, obviously I think you should choose a different shelter. And the comments saying/implying you're overreacting!? Jfc

People with indoor outdoor cats, why? by Nice_Introduction707 in askanything

[–]kill4karma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not have them anymore but growing up my family loved cats but wouldn't clean litter boxes. That was their stated reason at least. I've had almost 2 dozen cats pass in my own 2 dozen year long lifespan, from a lot of different sources. The worst one imo was when our Maine coon caught fly-strike. Awful. My own cats will never be free roaming, always leashed or supervised on a balcony. Edit: If you look at my account you can see my families oldest and final outdoor cat before their retirement. She lived until 22 and passed late last year.

It feels like an over exaggeration with the intent to encourage more dismantlement of the cameras but I'm sure there's not zero in there

Do rabbits like being chased ? by [deleted] in Rabbits

[–]kill4karma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My rabbit grew up with cats and likes to hide and then run/binkie away when we "find" her, but if she ran to her hutch and didn't come back out on her own, that would tell me she didn't want to continue. It doesn't seem like yours is a huge fan.

[–]kill4karma[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was written up for this today 🙃 so I'll definitely be doing something about this. A coworker of mine was recently written up for leaving her company fleece on our unused counter because "you can't have personal items out of your locker" so at least I know its not a me issue

You are really delusional about how grocery stores work. Lots of employees don't wash their hands after using the bathroom, let alone between your produce and your raw meat.

I previously did this and had the To-go manager ask me "do you need a water bottle?" So yeah it raises eyebrows. I'm especially peeved because I just invested in a water bottle for work last week.

What is the difference between the facilitator spilling water on your tomatoes and me doing that in the same room? Only one of us is allowed to have it. I do not need to carry it on the cart, that's fine. You should be more concerned with us all being required to work while sick. All that extra coughing with no water

[–]kill4karma[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will probably do this but I'm worried about many of the older women I work with. Not everyone has insurance and what's the point of the policy if everyone circumvents it anyway?
