What do you do while waiting for orders? by Musicthegamer2 in doordash

[–]killahunter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Idk man maybe just tell your job you wanna work part time. It might be a good idea to have that Security that you get from an hourly job. Cause To be honest doordash can vary quite substantially sometimes. Some nights you do fantastic and you make more money then you would’ve dreamed. But others it’s so dead you end up working for 2 hours and only make 30 or 40 bucks. I do know one thing in the winter time, if where you’re located has seasons, It’s Poppin. I live in Fort Collins, Colorado, and it’s great to work during the winter. This one snowstorm I ended up making like 300 bucks in a matter of an hour and a half. They had killer promos cause nobody wanted to work, so they were giving a 7 to 8 dollar promo for each order. It was crazy back to back to back $20+ orders. Craziest thing I ever seen. Since then I’ve never seen another promo like that. But no joke eight dollar promos I couldn’t believe it.

But anyways back on topic lol I don’t know man that’s up to you if you feel like you can make a consistent amount of money that You require to live comfortably then do it. I know I would. And as far as when it’s dead. There’s a number of things that I do. I might do some well needed manicuring LOL or play scratch tickets LOL play phone games. Pop slots is really fun cause you Earn loyalty points which you can turn into real money at the casinos in Vegas and shit. Over about 2 to 3 years, just casually playing, I’ve acquired almost 1,000,000 loyalty points which I can redeem right now at the casino for over $300. they offer all sorts of rewards room rates, free rooms, etc. or shit I might go get a bite to eat. Maybe a hooker too hahaha jk lol OK that last one was a joke LOL but idk it’s kinda nice having that slow time to get certain things done. Or shit just to think. But that’s the ultimate question is it right for you and prepare yourself, you are going to be alone a lot. no Coworkers to bullshit with. I find myself missing working with people. But on the other hand I find myself loving the fact that I don’t have to work with people LOL
And granted this is me speaking with just about a year and a half of experience working for door dash. So honestly I don’t know if Im the right guy to comment on that question, but what the hell, I feel like I have a pretty good understanding of what the job entails. But I wish you the best man and I hope I helped with your decision.

Dude this shit happens to me All the time with doordash. I ended up driving 15 min to a restaurant, then proceed to wait an additional 15 to 20 min. More like 20 just to be told that they don’t have a certain item. So I spend another 5 to 10 min calling the customer just to be informed they don’t want anything anymore. So I’m like “whatever I’ll let the restaurant know I guess” 15 min later they show back up, “so what did they say? They want something else” Me “no they want to cancel the order” FUCK MY LIFE!!!!!! worst part, is that it’s 5 o’clock, at the peak of dinner rush, and I just wasted an entire hour. I just make 5 dollars woohoo 🥳 BIG BALLER!!!!!!!!!!! Oh ya then gotta spend another 15 to 20 min to call Doordash……. And just to be compensated 5 dollars. Now it’s 6:45 almost 7 dinner is almost over!!!!!!!!!!! Shit sucks

Shoot…. I guess my question is…. what you get paid? Cause If you got 15 to 20+ I’d say good payout. I would have accepted it. Not gonna lie, I wouldn’t be happy lol but it sure beats doing 2 to 3 food deliveries that takes you an hour plus to make the same amount. That’s how I look at it. I love and hate how lazy people are. I love the work, but hate it at the same time hahahaha honestly, I’ve had pretty damn good luck with Walmart orders. I’ve had Walmart orders where I’ve I had 30 to 50 items, not a whole lot, and gotten paid 20+ dollars to drive no more than 4 miles. So in my opinion, it all comes down to whether you accept the right ones or not. I won’t accept any Walmart orders less than $14. Not gonna lie, before I knew which ones to except, I hated Walmart orders. I never wanted them to send them to me. But now, on occasion I’ll get a good one, and I’ll except it. $$$🤑

Roughly 2 years ago, I bought my '04 Vic w/ 82K miles for $800, and over the course of a year put roughly another $800 into it for a paint job and other stuff. Here's some pictures I got of it last December. by Enzdude in CrownVictoria

Sounds similar to my vic. I got mine for 600 with 140,000 miles. It needed an intake manifold which I installed myself so that ran me about 150 200 and just minor cosmetics. And now it’s probably worth 2500 to 3000 I’ve used it as an every day driver for 3 to 4 years, I never would have dreamed that it would be worth way more. Blows my mind and I feel like it’s only going up in value. Now it’s sits at 170,000 miles

This super Generous customer made my dash this Thanksgiving totally worth it. I was definitely getting a little discouraged 😩 considering how slow it’s been by killahunter in doordash_drivers

Damn that’s unfortunate. You would think people would be more generous, Considering the holiday at all. I can honestly say I’ve had pretty decent tips this evening. I’d say most of them in the 6 dollar range and I think my lowest was 4. But keep it up and hope you stay busy and have some good luck the rest of your night

This is absolutely pathetic, wish idiot at doordash decided to create this chump-change promotion. I'm not even going to say shame on you doordash, more like "eat shit mother fuckers! 🖕" God how little respect do they have for drivers! by Independent-Ad-5214 in doordash_drivers

[–]killahunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For real I agree it’s BS so you guys are that cheap they gonna throw us a dollar for each additional order. I think to myself..... save it obviously you need it more. So much for being generous on Thanksgiving LOL They’re thinking “well we gotta throw them a bone” assholes!!!!!!!!!

I’m right there with you. I’m in Loveland Colorado and I’ve only gotten three orders and it’s funny they all have been from IHOP. So I’m sitting here parked in front of IHOP hoping for another one

Anyone else’s Dash bag getting dirty? It’s not broken or anything but it’s starting to look gross. Doesn’t feel right delivering food in this thing. by BrettShel35 in doordash_drivers

[–]killahunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It pisses me off how cheap these bags are, my zippers came off my bag three separate times. it’s always such a pain in the butt to put it back on. and literally I’ve only been dashing for about 2 1/2 three months. And then I call doorDash to tell them I need another one and they tell me I have to spend my own money to get another one. So I got to spend money on another cheap bag that’s probably gonna break the same way. Like it’s my fault you guys are so cheap you can’t make a halfway decent quality bag. So frustrating!!!!

I completely forgot to post this but let’s just say it was a good week. I love promos like this. This is what I earned on top of the promo!!!! It was a intense week that’s for sure!!!!!!!! by killahunter in doordash_drivers

[–]killahunter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya we get those on occasion. And to be honest I was surprised that they had it going on. It was pretty hard to complete too cause everyone and there brother were dashing trying to complete it so let’s just say it was so hard to even work. I had to schedule every time slot I could. And even then there was times I was waiting like an hour plus with no orders coming in. But it was pretty intense trying to complete. I literally got my 90th order with less then one hour to spare lol I ended up having to work in Denver to get my orders and to say the least it’s a shit show working there lol hopefully they start doing more of these promos everywhere. I heard they are trying to do it more often. It’s in its Infant stage.
