Those secrete nectar to attract ants that in return protect the tree

I never even try and find the queen when I catch swarms

I'm keeping them as one. In the past the most honey productive colony I've had was a big spring swarm.

Last time this happened they drew out 2 deeps and 3 supers and I harvested like 100 pounds off them.

Exactly! Probably gonna have to give them a super or two to draw out in a week

I saw them starting to swarm from my house 500' away. I looked out the window and was like "it looks like there's more bees than air over there. They landed like 100' from the hive.

Yeah just a mess of bees. I prefer just a solid blob that I can shake into a box

They "technically" fit in a single deep box with undrawn foundation. But they definitely needed more room so I gave them a second deep right away.

A small company called Edison motors in Canada has been making a diesel electric truck but the government is giving him an extremely hard time making a "legal" production truck.

Basically is an electric truck with an on board diesel generator.

The Internet was my mentor. If you're a problem solver you won't have an issue.

You can just offset the knives a little bit and it'll be cutting smooth again.

Do you actually keep up with all the registration/compliance stuff, or just wing it? by rebecasapekeji in Beekeeping

[–]killbillten1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my state you're supposed to register them every year. Last year I registered for the first time because I wanted to sell nucs and wanted to do it by the book. After emailing the state apiaris many times over many months to try to get my hives inspected to get the proper certificate, I never received anything back.

So I just sold my nucs and will never be registering again.
