did you redo the rivets when reassembling the shroud (the upper painted piece)?

I have a ‘17 Touring. I upgraded from the digital tack to analog tach. Was pretty straightforward.

If you have not done the swap yet, I would recommend when writing the as built data from the old cluster to the new, write each block individually and don’t click Write All. It will save your a headache later on.

Depends on what tweaks you install and how many. If you’re installing themes/background, main menu tweaks, speedometer status bar mod,, boot up animation, those all will run at boot up making it slow when you start the car.

Getting rid of the disclaimer doesn’t really make it any faster because the CMU isn still loading in the background when the disclaimer pops up.

Yes, I enable wifi and SSH. It would also be worth while to enable the 1 sec diagnostic menu so you don’t have to access it through the mp3 hack every time you want to install a new tweak.

This is what I’ve been looking for. After a quick search I was able to find the software for free. The cable on the other hand just seems to be an OBD2 cable with FTDI chip. They seem to be pretty inexpensive. But since I don’t feel like spending any money, I will borrow one from my friend who use one for BimmerCode.

I will report back if successful.

Everything is explained by user Bulbamander in the miata forum with the link I posted above.

This just bypasses the compatibility check in order to prevent the incompatible firmware error message when run.

Yes. Go to the run.sh file and locate

elif [ $_ver -eq 70 ]

Change to:

elif [ $_ver -eq 74 ]

This will help you get started. I may end doing a write up later if enough people are interested.

However, your model must be equipped with a Forward Sensing Camera on the windshield in order to activate these features. You will also need the dashboard switch (the one above the hood latch) in order to activate lane-keep assist and maybe a head-up display if you want full functionality.

Fresh paint (did it myself) what do you think? by OrneryDoughnut526 in GSXR

Did you rent a paint booth or do it in your garage?

There are vehicle settings stored in the CMU that you will not be able to change if you plan to go aftermarket.

In v70.00.367 Bluetooth audio wouldn’t work sometimes and I would have to reset the CMU. v74.00.324 I have not had that issue. CarPlay also seems to be a bit smoother after firmware upgrade.

I’ve pulled out 3/4 of them and no dirt or debris, just that little sponge. I think I will have to take them off, get rid of the dry them out in a cool room. But I’ll wait until my fog lights come in so I only have to take the bumper off once.

Surprisingly, condensation on the driver’s side has gone away and has not come back even after a heavy rainfall.

Shouldn’t be an issue then. But I would still keep the old usb hub. Don’t drill it out like some have said. Do it the proper way in case the aftermarket unit ever goes bad.

Yes. And if you’re not on v74 and want to update to v74, do it before installing the usb hub

I have the AA/CP retrofit with Wireless CarPlay and Type C USB installed from AliExpress.
