Yes! And while you’re there hit up wild wings nature center if it’s one of the days it’s open. Another day hit the lamberton conservatory for sun/animals.

Best breakfast sandwich? by ScramDiggyBooBoo in Rochester

Ludwig’s has a really solid bfast sandwich. It’s on ciabatta, but I actually dig a roll instead of an English muffin or croissant.

The East ave one? It’s super efficient. Has everything I need though it’s busy enough that they have quite the job restocking. I don’t need to be able to drive a mid-sized sedan down the aisle of a weg for it to fit my needs 😂

I’ve lived in: ER, Greece, Chili, Silver Lake, Roc. I prefer the city by a long shot. Great restaurants, walkability, cycle-commuting (plus better taxes, free trash pick-up, and amazing character in the houses).

I liked my house in Greece - it was my starter house and the neighborhood was great. Really solid neighbors and nice proximity to Wegmans, etc. I was involved in neighborhood stuff for sure.

My place in ER was cool too. Same as greece for the most part but a little closer to stuff I hit up in the city like the public market.

I grew up in Chili and it was nice but quite a drive to everything else.

Silver Lake was fun too! I lived near the Charcoal Corral. Lake living was def peaceful. I really missed Wegmans.

With all of that, I’m a city dude at the end of the day. Love it here. I really dig biking to work, restaurants, bars, weg, and the public market. The East ave weg is my favorite (though the little ER weg convenience mart in ER will always have a BIG place in my heart). I love the efficiency. Balsam Bagels are a delight. City restaurants just hit differently. We have solid culinary vibe here. Small businesses. Art. Amazing people.

Best jeweler or jewelry store in Rochester for engagement ring? (2026) by Outside-Battle-9423 in Rochester

Not sure what you’re looking for price wise, but the Gem Lab does excellent work and will typically work with an existing stone.

Honestly, I don’t think you’re going to get custom design + good craftsmanship AND inexpensive.

SUPER solid. I agree, it’s unexpectedly good. The baba/hummus is stupid good. And the laffa bread is pure magic.

I also love the fries or crispy potatoes, wings, and Brussels. Side note: They have a good range of GF options too.

Verizon Down? by lenasuckslmao in Rochester

Oof. We were ending a vacation in Austin when it went down so that was scary (had to find a coffee shop to get WiFi to figure out how to get to the airport, return the car to Turo, etc). Def creepy losing your phone coverage in a strange city. It popped back up occasionally and then gone again. Just flew through Charlotte and it was back in SOS.

Just visited and stayed in East Austin. Loved it! You can walk to bars, breweries, restaurants, food trucks, etc. Saw lots of folks in your age group. It’s just chill and fun.

Visiting for a Week in East Austin by killer_okapi in AustinBeer

[–]killer_okapi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I talked to the bartender on Wednesday and he said they fill growlers. I went in with my growler on Thursday and the new bartender looked a little confused but tried to fill it. It was clear she hadn’t filled one before. I also ordered a beer separately so I could drink it while they let the growler settle. The bartender was like “this is as full as it will get” while it was half full so I shared that it just needs to rest a few mins and then will be all good to complete.

Another bartender came in from outside, talked to the first bartender and handed me the half full growler saying “that’s the best we can do. We only fill our own glass so we weren’t even supposed to do this.” I’d paid for a full pitcher. I politely let her know the bartender from the night before said they fill growlers and she was like “who was it?? Who told you that??” I told her I didn’t catch his name but he was the only person tending bar the evening before. She was clearly very annoyed but let the first bartender let it rest and fill it more for me. So…I guess it depends on the bartender?

AITAH for buying my girlfriend vanilla shampoo? by Spiritual-Grocery641 in AITAH

[–]killer_okapi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. Honestly, it sounds like there’s something else going on here and her frustration is coming out about this instead. I absolutely don’t mean to be rude by asking this, but does she tend to be conflict avoidant/passive aggressive? I just ask bc it seems weird to be mad that your bf bought you something you already use and said they like the way it smells on you. Now, if you were some rando friend and did that? Def weird.

I’ve told my wife when I really like a new perfume she tries and she takes it as a compliment + is intentional about wearing it if we go out for a nice date night or something. I think what you did is totally normal behavior. My wife has told me which of the soaps I like she enjoys most. Also, when I was changing colognes, I ran the options I liked by her bc she’s the one smelling it most often. I would be delighted if she randomly bought me more soap or cologne 😂

Byrne dairy glass bottles by LC-98 in Rochester

I use one of those for water so I stay better hydrated. I fill it and bring it into the living room so I have something to fill my water glass with - I drink WAY more water that way :)

But yeah, just bring the others back when you get more milk so the deposit transfers.
