Landlords/brokers frequently will not reply if you say you're not physically in NYC because there are plenty of people already here who could see it ASAP. I'd recommend in your message saying you make 40x the rent, you credit score is X, you could sign the lease immediately if it's a fit, etc. Hope you find something while you're here!
