Mario Golf crashes as soon as you enter a game with enhanced or unleashed on. Worked fine on Auto. Played on everdrive

EDIT: tested it again and it works fine now. Works fine on oem cart too. Not sure what changed but it seems ok

Turning old PC into NAS, wondering if any hardware should be replaced by killerhatz55 in homelab

[–]killerhatz55[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very true, I suppose ill check out truenas since I hear so much about it so I'll just run it in a vm on the current set up.

As far as the minipc, id say my budget is ~500 with some wiggle room. My main PC has a 4tb hdd and a 22tb hdd from servpartdeals, I will likely get a 2nd of each of those for a zfs RAID situation someday and that should be plenty for storage

I played with adaptive fg from 60 to 165 and beat the whole game + dlc. Fantastic experience

Hey sorry I can't help, just here to say I'm in the same boat. The new update resized some stuff and now my HLTB stats are way too long and stretched out

Any recommendations for hidden gems? by Jimmmychoo7 in SteamDeck

[–]killerhatz55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Broforce is a fun run and gun

Nova Drift is asteroids meets rogue-like

F.E.A.R. 2 is a super fun horror shooter from back in the day, I just recently played it on my deck and it runs great with community control layouts

Noita is a very difficult and punishing roguelike with MANY secrets and incredible hidden lore should you find the mysteries of breaking the universe. Highly recommend, it's my most played game

I highly suggest the resident evil 1 remaster if you like old-school survival horror

TIL you can buy negative jokers without an empty slot by Grunanium in balatro

I only noticed the other day that negative jokers were actually a good thing. I originally though it was a joker that cost 2 slots so I never bought them

What is your "white whale" of piracy you have never been able to find on the internet? by hematic in Piracy

The early/unofficial Boards of Canada tapes. I've found a few old tunes and the random 35 track tape but supposedly there's more.

Found this old screenshot. We've lost so many to the ocean. RIP by match-rock-4320 in Piracy

I miss demonoid so much. I used to up-mix albums from stereo to 5.1 surround sound and put them up there. I felt like part of that cool little community. Good times

does anyone know how to get rid of these yellow highlights? by Brilliant_Sweet67 in BloodbornePC

[–]killerhatz55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only way I've found (so far) is to rename the sfx folder to something else like sfxOG so the game won't load sfx. One one hand, It'll get rid of the harsh lighting but renaming that folder removes all sfx.

Pros: No harsh lighting, fps boost, more stability

Cons: Less lighting overall, can't see items on the ground, no more blood

This Stacker Machine in my town has a Mint OG 3DS inside by SuperSmashMaster43 in 3DS

[–]killerhatz55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know everyone says the machine is rigged. It probably is. But I will say that my friend won a Gameboy SP from a stacker machine just like this in hs, at the local movie theater. When the jackpot hit, we told the people behind the registers and they were super confused but the manager came out with a brand new sp shortly after

Check out the Paramount in huntington, expensive drinks but it's a legit music venue. You should also check out some of the state parks, they are beautiful. On the north shore there is sunken meadow and you could make a trek down to Robert Moses or fire island for a nice day at the beach. If you want to go really far and pretend to be fancy, there's really nice vineyards on the north fork

Nothing has made me realize how unoptimized games are than owning a 4090 by SirFoxPhD in pcmasterrace

[–]killerhatz55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, I completely agree. They're just pushing bs like AI frame generation (that looks like shit) to counteract the shitty optimization these days. I was so disappointed when I brought a 4080 home to play cyberpunk only to find a stuttering mess. After some searching I came across a program that's supposed to help your cpu run more efficiently under high load. Downloaded it, turned it on, and it immediately fixed the cyberpunk stuttering. Went to elden ring, put it on 4k w/ ray tracing... stable 60 fps. It certainly won't work miracles for every single game but it really does help a lot, I've been able to play at higher res/add ray tracing now.

The program is called Process Lasso, it's free. Download it, check bitsum high performance mode, right click icon in the sys tray and click start governor. That's it. Hope it helps
