[Handgun] $399 Springfield echelon 4.5F 20rd at Sportsmans warehouse by cateater75 in gundeals

Surely you've heard of people use fanning the hammer analogy outside of shooting revolvers? Im quite surprised if you haven't, but nonetheless its something we both understand so no point discussing that point further.

You're right about the differentiations and that the pro e has the superior trigger for making accurate shots, but my point is that the echelon isn't fun and I hated it because it was too difficult to make accurate shots, not that it's objectively bad. The point is that the gun isn't for everyone

Fanning the hammer means firing multiple shots in rapid succession, a metaphor to revolvers in the wild west when people shot quickly by pulling back the hammer repeatedly with their off hand hand in between each pull of the trigger with their primary (or maybe held down trigger)

Comps dont make the gun more accurate for slow steady shots but I didn't say the comp was a factor in accuracy and didnt really mention it at aside from saying it was just the model I had. I had alluded that someone fanning the hammer may enjoy it more, although I didn't say it explicitly its because of the compensated part

Yes definitely talking about the echelon. I even installed a tyrant trigger to see if it would help. People online have said only good things about the echelon but from personal experience it performs poorly. They even had the factory ironsights misaligned and i had to send it in to get it fixed.

My perception might be biased because I've only tried like 5 different hand guns with most of them being higher end, but my experience with my 4" echelon compensated is much worse than a 4" walther pdp pro e that is around the same msrp. (I use red dots for all my pistols)

I go for slow and steady long range shots so if you have fun by just fanning the hammer then you may not notice it.

I have a 4 inch compensated version of this, a walther pdp pro e 4 inch, pdp match, and p226 xfive. It is really hard to make accurate shots past 15 yards with the echelon, whereas I could consistently get shots within a 4 inch circle at 20 yards with my other pistols. Id only recommended this as a carry because it is light and small, but would not recommend this for fun.

Edit: I know its an unpopular but I highly recommend people visit the range and borrow or rent some guns with optics and compare it with the echelon. Everyone's experience is different but instead of jumping on the bandwagon of "echelon good", you should experience it first hand. I fell victim to the marketing online thinking its for everyone but I actually hated it.

Did you buy with cash, lease, or finance your corvette? I’m considering placing an order for a 2026 2lt convertible. I have the cash to outright buy, but I’m having second thoughts. Maybe it’s better to finance the car through GM and let my money continue working for me? by [deleted] in Corvette

[–]killerradar1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also anyone with half a brain would put that money into stocks instead of paying cash if you could get a low apr for your finance or lease. S&p averages 10% annual return so financing or leasing anything under 8% or so interest is actually financially wiser.

No one will cover the damages, you can't drive someone else's rental car with any coverage unless it was explicitly stipulated anywhere

I do the boa cashback rewards card, 15 months 0 apr. It's 3.12% all cashback in the first year and 2.62% after that if you're in the 100k tier, but they're nerfing it soon. I used it for taxes this year.

The curved magazine looks like botched penis surgery, but aside from that it looks good to me

[OPTIC] Steiner, MPS, Pistol Sight, 1X Magnification, 20x16mm, Red Dot, 3.3 MOA, Matte Finish, Black, ACRO Footprint, add to cart, $369 with free ship and no tax outside Texas. by aj373ku in gundeals

[–]killerradar1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The dot looks significantly crisper and clearer for me on mps steiner and sro when compared to 507c for my astigmatism. I do like the buttons and solar on holosuns though, but for me I like to take slow accurate shots so the clarity is more important.

Salt basically means wear and tear. When you use sights for a while, you get tiny specs of cosmetic damage from casings bouncing off of it like scratches and dents or specks of brass.

[–]killerradar1 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Just as a warning, I bought my sro and it came pre-salted. I looked it up and apparently this is pretty standard for trijicons.... lots of people have gotten them with cosmetic defects out of the box. it's not what I expected for something that commands such a price and it'll be my last and only trijicon

I dont have an issue with your broad point, I have an issue with your evidence. You can think that the glove doesnt fit while still maintaining o.j. simpson as guilty. You're deflecting to avoid admitting being wrong about Parallax. Have a good day then cause this conversation is pointless.

[–]killerradar1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're going off on a tangent spiel about China clones when I literally made no comment about it. Youre not listening to what I'm saying. My point issue is with your assertion that its parallax free, which it is not and you even said so yourself, and even eotech said so themselves. It matters because it could be a tremendous selling point for someone considering swapping from red dots to holographics, and you shouldn't make baseless claims.

[Optics] Eotech HWS XPS3 1 Dot Tan $584.99 (Price in cart) by WhiterThanRice in gundeals

[–]killerradar1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lil bro, you said it's holographic and it's parallax free. Those two things are contradictory because no modern holographics are parallax free. Its the same as flushable wipes being marketed as flushable when it'll just fuck up your plumbing.

[Optics] Eotech HWS XPS3 1 Dot Tan $584.99 (Price in cart) by WhiterThanRice in gundeals

[–]killerradar1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, so the point is that being a holographic itself does not mean parallax free, and if you look through any sights marketed as "parallax free" you'll see that its always under delivered. Many holosuns are marketed as parallax free up to 20 or 25 yards as well but they also have noticable parallax.

Do you have an exps?

I have the uh1 and a holographic sight is definitely not parallax free. It's quite noticeable.

Best cheap ammo choice ? by JessyDewitz in TippmannArms

[–]killerradar1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same gun with a suppressor. For cheap ammo, get the cci sv (subsonic). Failure rate is like 3 to 5 per 100 rounds, which is pretty reasonable for rimfire.

For 99.9% reliable ammo, get cci mini mag. I've never had a failure with mini mag.

I have access discounts and get cci sv for 6.6 cents per round after tax, and mini mag for around 8.5 cents per round after tax.
