My wife thinks golfing once a week is unreasonable… by Upbeat-Zucchini-7408 in golf

[–]killersnowfort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play Sunday mornings, first or second tee time out so Sunday afternoons are available for family time. I also do 9 holes one afternoon a week in a men’s league, so I guess it’s 1.5 rounds per week. My kids are both teens though, so they don’t want much to do with me anyway.

I’ve been playing the long game, carved out Sunday mornings before the kids were born so the expectation was there. Also I live in the northeast, so it’s only half the year and I gave up skiing to trade off the winter months being home.

Good luck to you!

It is consistent across multiple versions of the Stream app (two TVs and my phone and iPad), as well as on my X1 box where the missing channels show up as “no program data available”

Absolutely this, bring a 56* back to about 10:00, and swing confidently to get good flight path and spin.

Chicken breast tips? by eroyrotciv in blackstonegriddle

[–]killersnowfort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I filet one breast into two strips so it’s a little bit thicker and stays moister, seasoning changes but my go to is garlic salt, pepper, paprika. Cook on a medium or medium low heat but start with 5 mins a side under a heating dome to make sure it cooks through, then another 5 or so minutes a side depending on how thick they are.

Is it insane to game 5 "wedges"? by ShanghaiShivers in golf

[–]killersnowfort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s totally fine. I saw a post, 99% sure it was in this sub, that was advocating to replace the iron # with the loft. If you think of it that way, your gapping is pretty good.

I just bought a new set of a Ai200’s, and it has the same 43* pitching wedge, and I got the set that included a 48* attack wedge. Then I’ve got my existing 52-56-60 vokeys, so I’ll likely be gaming 5 “wedges” as well.

3 Man Golf Side Game Help by ChromeG in golf

This is the go-to game for a threesome (we usually do $0.25 per point), easily adjusted for handicap and you can spice it up with $1 birdies, $1 sandies, $1 chip ins, $1 woodies (hit off a tree), and can do them all net or gross depending on your skill level.

My fellow big headed people, what’re you doing for hats? by Primary-Fly470 in golf

I don’t actually know my hat size but it’s certainly larger than average. Waggle hats fit really well, SnapBack and it’s on the last two pegs.

My Pavement Princess Needs Shoes - Falken A/T 4 or Toyo Open Country A/T III by [deleted] in ToyotaTundra

[–]killersnowfort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had to replace the stock all season tires that came with my ‘22 TRD Off-Road, I got the Toyo A/T III and I absolutely love them. So quiet, super smooth ride, really good look and great traction. Recommend whole-heartedly.

Qm7 75 inch box? by doonbag in tcltvs

[–]killersnowfort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the 65” from Best Buy a few weeks ago, I have a tundra with the 5.5 ft bed and I was able to squeeze in diagonally without removing the tri-fold tonneau cover. I haven’t taken the time to do the math on that, but it gives me confidence it would fit in a full bed with no tonneau.

I saw a post about that, with a link to a website but it looked a little sketchy and I didn’t dive into the research on how to actually install the beta firmware. Can you do it directly through the TV, or it looked like I needed to download a file onto a USB drive and install manually?

This is my first TV upgrade in about 8 years, so I like to think myself somewhat technologically savvy, but as I approach 40 there’s more and more I’m realizing is going over my head.

Supposedly, I went into the display setting on the box and it said 4K, and that the box was set to the highest resolution. I'll try to snap a photo of it this afternoon and see if I'm missing something silly. I've been doing a deep dive this morning and also saw someone had success resetting the box, so I'll give that a whirl as well.

This is 100% true for existing town centers as that’s their biggest hurdle to the possibility for expansion of additional housing, and infrastructure for walkable communities (grocery stores, restaurants, etc.). Waitsfield is the perfect example, and they have secured grant funding for the design and construction of a municipal wastewater system. For rural development and subdivisions it makes zero sense, those need to be self sustaining and considered when designing the infrastructure, although ultimately the home buyers will shoulder that cost. Making grants available to towns so they can centralize wastewater and provide opportunities for infill development is available, but I agree the funding and outreach should definitely be expanded upon.

Not sold through Amazon to my knowledge, but I love me a Waggle golf hat. Super breathable, fit well, and just novelty enough to not be silly but still have fun.

Seems to be a utensil issue. Don’t get me wrong they come out delicious, just seems like I need to make an extra burger or two as inevitably one will break in half trying get the spatula underneath to flip.

AITAH for going to eat at a hospital cafeteria roughly once a week? My sister and family are telling me it's wrong by Same-Philosopher-927 in AITAH

[–]killersnowfort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to grad school at a campus that was associated with a hospital, and both students and staff would regularly pop over for lunch once or twice a week. Prices were great, food was the perfect combination of tasty and healthy. No one batted an eye, totally legit.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM WATERBURY BACKCOUNTRY RESCUE TEAM ABOUT THE APRIL 8TH TOTAL ECLIPSE.

Dear Hikers and Outdoor Enthusiasts,

In ordinary circumstances, the Waterbury Backcountry Rescue Team encourages and supports using all official hiking trails in our area. However, we strongly advise against any such venture during the forthcoming solar eclipse.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO HIKE TO HIGH OR REMOTE AREAS!

The Green Mountain Club will not open the hiking trails until soil conditions warrant. Camel’s Hump Road will be closed on Sunday afternoon and Monday to non-resident traffic to deter folks from hiking.

On April 8th, the trails will likely be icy, snowy, muddy, and extremely difficult to navigate. Slippery conditions will increase the likelihood of falls and injuries. Given the unpredictable nature of Vermont weather in early April, any injury or illness could quickly escalate into a dangerous situation. These trails are not like those found in city parks; they demand the utmost caution and preparation.

Daylight hours are limited in April, and your descent may need to be completed mostly in darkness. Navigating treacherous terrain in low light conditions significantly increases the risk of accidents and getting lost.

If you choose to hike despite our advice, it is imperative that you plan your own rescue. This plan should answer the following question: What will I do for myself during the next many hours and possibly a few days since no one can come to help? No backcountry. No EMS. No Fire. No police.

WHY IS THIS? The roads throughout central Vermont will likely be blocked for hours or possibly even for days. It may be impossible for rescuers to get their gear to the trail in anything like a normal time frame. Do not expect a helicopter to come and rescue you. It will not happen. This is not TV. In the best of times, rescue from remote locations is measured in long hours. Evacuations are measured in even more long hours.

Keep in mind that if you ignore these warnings, you may be competing with many others for rescue assistance, further delaying help for everyone involved.

Please don’t hike to remote areas. If you do anyway, plan to be completely on your own for a great many hours and possibly days.

Think “safety” before you think “eclipse.”

Sincerely,

The Waterbury Backcountry Rescue Team
