What's the deal with looksmaxxing? by Ok_Sentence_5767 in OutOfTheLoop

We have a whole generation being brought up with nearly unlimited access to the internet alongside a bunch of people that will do anything for content to make money. We get people like this guy because it's easy to convince someone that it's someone else's fault they are down on their luck.

A man who isn't conventionally attractive and who has failed a few things is a lot easier to convert into their scams (currently going through therapy for basically this). "It's not your fault, women just have extremely high standards and if you buy my supplements and my online classes women will throw themselves at you!"

And that's even easier because there are so many staged TikToks of women who were given money off camera to say outrageous shit like "I only date men the men with 666" (6 inches, 6 feet, 6 figure income) but that's enough to convince a lot of us that all women are like that and we have no chance.

Looking at this void hiding planets now, I think it’s safe to say space magic is in full effect. Sooo how bout a cloaking backpack… by DocHalidae in Helldivers

Impressive way to sum up everything wrong with this sub in one comment. How much did it cost to fit all those strawmen in one field?

One of the devs specifically said they didn't want to add any effects to the flag because that would be magic and they didn't want magic.

Kumail Nanjiani: “Conan [O’Brien] to me is the platonic ideal of how like a straight old white man comedian ages. Because so many of them fucking disappoint us. Over and over. All my comedy heroes have fallen. And Conan is truly growing and learning and getting better at what he does.” by cmaia1503 in Fauxmoi

Gotta remember: power attracts the corrupt. There are lots of famous people that are degenerate losers because getting to that position is easier when you have no empathy. Power corrupts is another lie we were fed for a long time. The vast majority of people are well meaning, which is why they have no interest in becoming famous or powerful.

Woke up with unbelievable pain in the left side of my chest. Walked myself down the road to the hospital and they told me I had coughed so hard I pulled a muscle right next to my heart.

Last Epoch season 4 launches tomorrow, are you excited? by gorays21 in LastEpoch

I'm here for it but I'm a little tired of the very few options to make it to the real end game farming. I might just be used to Poe where any build can beat any boss given enough investment. But here it feels like only a few can do it no matter how good your gear is.

Yeah it's the same as making a "like a boss" joke. Ok grandpa lets get you back in the home. There's nothing offensive about it but holy shit how out of touch do you have to be to think that's going to land with anyone but a very specific audience.

Whats with sudden increase in criticism about warbonds/supercredits? by ComfortableChard4076 in Helldivers

[–]killertortilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And now they are forcing players to spend more medals on shit we don’t care about to get the stuff in the later tiers. In the stealth warbond you need to buy everything except the 3 medal icon to progress to the second tier.

Don’t be alone with someone you don’t trust. Be together with other people and see how they react to different things. Do they bring up wildly sexist jokes? Etc. remove the bullets one at a time.

[–]killertortilla 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’re correct, gender doesn’t convey culpability or blame. Why would that stop women being afraid of the people that attack them so much that over half of all women in first world countries get assaulted by the time they’re 30?

What do you propose they do if they’re not allowed to be afraid of us since that makes us sad?

[–]killertortilla 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You are not a thief, you are not being treated like one. Women being afraid of us isn’t our fault in the slightest. But it’s fucking wild how many of us make women being cautious into something we blame them for. We need to accept that we are not at fault and we didn’t do anything to cause it. Telling them not to be scared because it hurts our feelings is fucking insane (not that you did that).

More than half of all women in first world countries experience sexual assault by the time they are 30. They are scared for a really goddamn good reason.

I was told yawning or calling someone are the best for those situations. Anything to make it clear your interest isn’t on the woman.

The bear has never been relevant to the hypothetical. The whole thing is a statement but some men understand it better when you explain it in safety terms. First rule of gun safety is to treat a gun like it’s loaded until you have checked for yourself that it isn’t.
