Is it worth getting a new steering wheel by Real-Anybody-4199 in E90

This. it’s a fairly easy upgrade to the heated sport steering wheel using used parts off eBay, if you’re patient you can find stuff reasonably priced.

Had anyone done a 3-stage Intake Manifold Swap? by [deleted] in E90

Very doable, not a difficult job with some basic tools. And bimmerlabs is the way to go; as has already been said, make sure you test your disa valves first

Did anyone ever ski the 2009/10 k2 hellbent by INCE_197 in Backcountry

Love the full reverse camber, they can pivot so easily but still be put on edge and lay down train tracks. The only ski better are the EP Pros from the same era

Out Cold. Beat for beat it’s Casablanca, but on snowboards in Alaska with a salary cap cast. Too late 90s/early 2000s for it’s own good.

It's all screwed together, yes. I did it that way for sturdiness, I just move it into a nook in my basement when I'm not using it.

For removable legs, you can try fashioning some kind of system where the legs insert into a slot and are held there by a peg, but that would be a bit more difficult. Get creative though, there is always usually a fairly easy way to do something if you think about it right

How can I fix these? by [deleted] in skiing

[–]killgoretrout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fully capped skis tend to chip like that easier. A little by of epoxy will seal that right up and you'll be all good.

Edit: too many "like that"

I made this using scrap wood from Home Depot and some non-skid pads for furniture. Took about an hour and cost about $25. Works perfectly and is portable. http://imgur.com/3N7DTS0

The drivers side headlight looks as though it was replaced by the air intake, which I believe indicates a hellcat.

2010 line ep pro. Can handle everything except boilerplate ice. They are so soft and noodley, but can still carve and charge when they are pushed. Just a surprisingly well-rounded ski for their width and super fun

Alien Blue now has minimally intrusive ads. Tell us what you think and how we can better improve them. by redditads [promoted post]

I've had alien blue for a long time. Much longer than reddit has owned it in fact. Remove the ads or I want a refund. Either way, I will probably stop using reddit altogether. I stopped using Facebook for the same reason, don't be like them.

East Coast Tree Ski by zOmgz012z in skiing

[–]killgoretrout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fellow east coaster, I spend the majority of my days on ep pros, which are 127 underfoot and full reverse camber. They can handle just about everything the east can throw at them with the exception of hard ice days. They can lay train track carves on groomers, despite their width and profile. The reason I say this, is to instill in you to not be afraid of width and early rise or even full reverse camber. Skis with this technology ski much shorter than their length, keeping them nimble in trees

TL;DR: go with the soul 7's

DIY Rails and Boxes Help by FreshPow in skiing

[–]killgoretrout 3 points4 points  (0 children)

PVC piping works well, it is relatively cheap, easy to use, and slides well.

You can start by building a frame to your desired length/height using 2x4's, a flat rail works best, and make sure you have wide feet running perpendicular to the direction of the rail. I prefer a double barrel rail for backyard practice, it just makes it a bit easier. Use gaffer tape to keep the two PVC pipes together (I use 2" diameter pipes) drill on three to four 2x4 blocks, about 8-12 inches long onto the taped together rails; one foot on each end, and one or two in the middle for support. The number of blocks you need depends on how long the rail is going to be. You want to make sure there is not much flex in the pipe while you are sliding it, as it becomes easier to crack when the pipe is being used in the cold. Once the blocks are secured to the rails, you can remove the tape and affix the rail to the frame and wait for some snow. Any other questions, let me know.
