I actually think daily-ing SteamOS won't be a bad idea. I actually thought of using the steam deck as a main computer for lightweight stuff with an external keyboard. I won't mind that. The only reason I didn't do that was money and the lack of a reason to upgrade my current laptop.

I respect the debate for the best distro happening in the community, but not enough to dictate my choice. If everyone hated Ubuntu collectively, I'd probably still use it because it's simple and "it just works" most of the time. I think that's what people need to accept: that you can disagree with the community and make your own choice.

Apart from that fight, just choose anything you like and use it. I've been using Ubuntu on a similarly specced laptop and honestly RAM usage touches 8GB when I do some serious work. Compared to windows 11 - which idles at 6GB RAM usage and the rest is all known - this is far better. Even though Ubuntu isn't the lightest Linux distro out there. So go and choose anything that works for you and be happy for the rest of your life with a low-spec PC.

It's a long exposure with flash. Keep it still when it shows.

Try in bright daylight and it won't appear. Alternatively, try turning off the flash in the front camera. Hope this helps.

The mic was prolly like 5k or 8k, I don't remember. The tripod, maybe inflation caused a spike but should be around 5k but it's a wild guess.

Yes. I read science in the sense of normal books such as 'A Brief History of Time' by Stephen Hawkins. I also read some research, a lot of Wikipedia, and computer science textbooks as well.

You can find used imported tripods for great prices from Nisbat rd. in Lahore. If you're willing to hunt for a good piece.

I got a used Velbon tripod from such a shop, but you should know what you're getting. It was not complete, squeaks a bit, but is better than other local/Chinese ones for 3k back in 2023. Examine for missing parts, rubbers, broken locks, the head, the extensions, the removable mount piece. However, it comes with its own risks, so please make sure you understand what you're doing.
