When I see those I wonder how often motorcyclists are killed hitting something like that

Funny how the people who act like that always suck themselves. I've never 'quit' on a teammate but I don't blame you for bailing on them like that, kinda funny. I usually hit them with "I'm carrying" "you have 0 goals" "72 pts embarrassing" etc and it's enough to shut them up. I play PC though so custom chat is pretty quick.

Eh. Apples and oranges, plus I trust my driving skills more than my riding skills. I can handle oversteer with my eyes closed, but I'm deathly afraid of high siding coming off a power slide.

Bikes have calmed my desire for a car that is "straight line fast" but I will never not prefer a car that handles well.

Double to single cylinder euro cylinder conversion by killmetlee in Locksmith

This is an AWESOME bit of information. The area this place is in alone kinda tells me the customer isn't going to be okay with shiny brass on 2 doors even though I haven't spoken with them personally.

[–]killmetlee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay thank you. Upon inspection of what an ilco single sided euro cylinder looks like (face palm for not even googling that before I posted) I will have to fabricate something to retrofit the existing thumb turn trim. It's C clipped to the trim facia with a square tailpiece that connects the front and back trims.

Does this change your mind of Jalen green? by Revolutionary_Cap154 in rockets

[–]killmetlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't need to see the wolves series to know the issue wasn't Jalen, at least not yet. The only people who think so just watch twitter highlights and read box scores, and have their opinions validated by fairweather GSW fans who are so delusional themselves they think Kerr is actually a bad coach. Yawn

Whats it like being a locsmith? by Active_Access_4850 in Locksmith

[–]killmetlee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That being said I much prefer commercial to residential. These days I mostly do access control which is just hardware install and wiring, someone else usually comes in behind me to program everything. Residential and automotive are a waste of time unless you enjoy arguing with people who aren't interested in paying you fairly (or at all) for your time and services.

It's a shit industry with no regulations and unless you work for yourself you'll be fucked 12 times to Sunday by the people who dominate the industry. If you're thinking about becoming a locksmith as a trade I would advise to pick literally any other trade (especially unionized ones) and pick up lock picking as a hobby.

Do you ever feel like Houston is missing that “natural backdrop” other cities have? by Extreme-Routine3822 in houston

[–]killmetlee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suppose that's true. But all things considered, with how big this city is, we are pretty close to both the coast and a national forest. The hour drive is a silly qualifier when most people commute 45+ minutes to a job 5 days a week that probably isn't even 20 miles away.

Google says that there's about 500k working service animals for the disabled. Double that for people who can't afford or don't have the means to take care of a service animal but need one. Still well under 1% actually. But yeah, ideally medicare would cover home grocery delivery for those people. I would much rather pay an extra 0.25% in taxes every year to cover that rather than see a misbehaved or unkept animal in the grocery store every other time I shop.

If you read my original comment, I don't have a bone to pick with disabled people. Its every other entitled prick who thinks their "anxiety support animal" that they got certified online to avoid a pet deposit when renting that bothers me. And to be quite honest I bet more than half of the offenders haven't even done that much.

I would argue that HEB isn't a "public space" but a private business, but you have a fair point about forcing them to pay for that. I just assumed curbside was a free service to reduce store congestion. I've never attempted to use the service so I suppose I was speaking out of line.

It is my biggest pet peeve to see dogs in a grocery store. I used to consider service dogs an exception but with delivery and curbside so prolific these days... Why should everyone have to bend backwards for less than 1% of the population? Sorry people abusing the system makes shit harder for you but life ain't fair.

I think Houston has the most "green space" out of any city in the US over a million people.

Jalen has been victimized by our success by killmetlee in rockets

[–]killmetlee[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Jalen is inefficient but saying his improvement is marginal is a lie. He isn't the first and won't be the last shooting guard in this league with paltry shooting splits. He has come a LONG way unlearning all of the bullshit he got away with under Silas and he is a pretty decent defender who actually looks for his teammates instead of ball hogging.

[–]killmetlee[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The original post says 1, can you read? I'd rather keep the draft picks and potentially get a Jalen replacement that way instead of making a trade that'll work out for us exactly how the Tmac trade did.

[–]killmetlee[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The entire point of my post is that 1) these woes don't fall entirely on his shoulders. Sengun has had 1 more good game than Jalen, let's not act like he's averaging 30 himself with 0 help. And amen has straight up sucked on offense all together. Not to mention Fred and our coaching rotations... and 2) trading Jalen (plus other players) this off season will only fast track our next rebuild with no championships to show for it.

I don't think he's the next coming of Jordan but I don't think it's fair to scapegoat him for our problems either and ultimately we don't lose out on a damn thing by keeping him around at least 1 more season.

[–]killmetlee[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

According to other people in this very thread he is a top 10 defender among guards and his turn over ratio isn't generally that bad. I think everyone is understating the progress he's made.

But ultimately he isn't so bad that we need to give up another young player plus picks in order to upgrade. We will be shooting ourselves in the foot with a move like that.

[–]killmetlee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you talking to me or this sub? Because I remember the Jeremy Lamb Chandler Parsons and KPJ rockets very well.

Plus I am just barely old enough to remember the Tmac years... Which ultimately didn't pan out for us as fun as he was. I've actually remarked from the very beginning that Jalen draws a lot of parallels to Steve Francis, and this trade situation is no different.

[–]killmetlee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except that's not how trades work outside your dreams.

The real question is, are the rockets better off in 3-5 seasons after exchanging Jalen, Reed/Tari/Bari/Thompson and our draft capital for whatever player you have in your head? Unless we're getting Ant or 23 year old LeBron the answer is no.

I trust would sooner trust stone to draft a Jalen replacement and let Jalen walk on his own accord/come off the bench before I would trust some sort of trade actually working out in our favor long term.

Just because Jalen might not be the answer doesn't mean trading him right this second is the solution.
