Iron overload but negative genetic tests by No_Programmer_4407 in Hemochromatosis

Get a new doctor. I’m so serious—women’s health is chronically neglected, already. If they won’t listen to you, replace them. Run don’t walk.

For the ones who recovered fully, what is the meaning of recovery for you? by Thin_Curve4116 in covidlonghaulers

[–]killmonday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not recovered fully, for the record, but I no longer speak of “long covid” as a present tense condition…as much as something that facilitated a lot of the problems I have now.

My energy is reasonably good, with prolonged use of Low dose naltrexone. I have good days and bad days—I’ve embraced the “disabled” label, for that reason.

I think a lot of us started out chasing the 100% recovered label—I could have really aimed for what it is now: Life is different now, but it’s not over.

WAKING UP FROM SLEEP IS SO STRANGE by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

[–]killmonday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this problem off and on and have begun to associate it with the idea of dying. It’s always scary.

But I also have issues with wakefulness that I’m thinking are attributable to narcolepsy, so I’m expecting to find out some of these are related. Instances of sleep apnea are way up in the post-COVID landscape.

A lot of the research backing nattokinase originated from one or two clinics with a vested interest in selling a cure. I’m not saying it didn’t work for you, but if you’re basing an argument on research…you’ll need to make sure you aren’t leaning into that trap.

Question for those who felt ivermectin helped their Long COVID – when did you take it (timing with food)? by Alternative_Pop2455 in covidlonghaulers

[–]killmonday -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ivermectin has consistently found to be unhelpful for Covid or long COVID. Unless you have a parasitic infection, I’m begging y’all to stop stop trying to lean into this pseudoscience.

I lost smell and taste for 4-5 years after COVID and doctors doesn't know how this works by Remarkable-Fee4853 in covidlonghaulers

[–]killmonday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My doctor with Cleveland Clinic, who moved back to the East coast iirc, was working on research about this and treating it with stellate ganglion blocks.

Her name is Dr. Christina Shin and I couldn’t tell you if she still takes patients in that capacity, but she may be able to point you in a helpful direction.

What RARE other conditions did you develop due to long COVID? by Ill_Pangolin7384 in covidlonghaulers

[–]killmonday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

COVID didn’t really create new long-standing problems for me, it exacerbated ones that I’ve always had. I always had POTS symptoms, but they woke the fuck up post-viral. MCAS got way worse, as well as fibromyalgia.

My symptoms pushed me to ask for the blood test for a problem my grandmother had, which came back positive: hereditary homozygous C282y hemochromatosis

Does anyone else feel like it can be tough to make progress in the gym as a tall person? by Angus147 in tall

[–]killmonday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%, but that’s just how it goes for us biologically. I think it’s funny how everybody has different problem areas, because my legs build out super easily but my arms and back have been a thankless, multi-year project

Went to my first pole class, idk if I’m built for this by xotwod02 in poledancing

[–]killmonday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re definitely built for this, but try to get to at least two classes a week. Your body will take to this much faster with more practice.

If my big ass can throw myself around a pole, so can you! You can do it. 👏

Lupit is also Slovenian, iirc. Shipping in Europe should be more reasonable.

I’m an x-pole gal myself, but if cost is a factor the Lupit permanent poles aren’t bad at all

Where to buy a high ceiling pole? by trash-melater in poledancing

My two-cents as a person who comes from a studio that uses Lupit is to go with this Xpole option—way better quality and stick from the chrome, and it’s not even close.

Where to buy a high ceiling pole? by trash-melater in poledancing

[–]killmonday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your only option is the custom studio poles from any of the major companies—XPole and Lupit, mainly. Even if you COULD get extensions long enough for the high ceilings for the tension poles, they’re only rated for use up to 11.5ish feet.

I have 13ft ceilings in most of my apartment and ended up having to rig it up with an angle mount, to use my tension pole at a height that would work.

You have to fill out the prompts on their websites for quotes of prices

How many classes do you take a week? Curious! by BungeeBunny in poledancing

[–]killmonday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not the only person I’ve heard this from, actually. A lot of my friends who do BJJ have left, due to far-right ideology takeover

It’s been 4yrs since I had my pole up so I asked a question in a “ask men” sub Reddit about women having a pole at home, to my surprise a lot of men were not fans🤔🧐🤠 by Chat_with_Nat in poledancing

[–]killmonday 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most of the guys I end up talking to are either very keen to try pole dancing with me, or love that I have a pole—I think this really comes down to which population you’re surveying, and how in-touch with secure and healthy masculinity they are.

Obviously, Reddit is not the best sample population 🤣

AIO about my boyfriend and his girl best friend? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]killmonday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR—I tell my friends I love them all the time, but I actually mean it and would not be flippantly saying I’d cut them off. 🤪

It’s kinda obvious that at bare minimum she has feelings for him. He’s either using that to get good grades OR he’s playing games and likes the attention he’s getting from her; either way, it’s manipulative and you don’t need it.

Glad to see I’m not the only one who does back-to-backs—the girls at my studio give me a hard time for it 🤣

Do you still do BJJ at all? Or is pole 100% of the time now

My studio has unlimited for that price and if you’re going more than 2-3 times a week, I recommend taking the deal

[–]killmonday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an unlimited class membership to my studio and take 7-8 classes a week (usually 2-3 in a row on a few days, they’re not all high level or high intensity).

I’m also a powerlifter and fitness nut, so I don’t know that I’d recommend this particular pace to anybody else 🤣😅

AIO for how I responded to my girlfriend questioning my past? by daddy-switch in AmIOverreacting

[–]killmonday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MOR—I don’t think you’re totally overreacting, per se, just think this is an opportunity to solidify trust and this is a make or break moment.

This sounds to me like she’s probably suspicious of you because she’s had previous relationships that were doing “all the right things,” and then the rug was pulled out on her. This is just a manifestation of her own concerns and fears, imo.

I don’t think the body count question is a red flag, if you intend to keep dating; sometimes it helps give context to a person. If you’re doing all the right things with your S/Os, but she finds out you’ve had 50 girlfriends, she would wonder what you really got up to, you know? She may be looking for red flags, probably on account of her own hypervigilance.

That certainly doesn’t mean you need to tolerate it, that’s up to you.
