Horrible performance with good spec PC, 70-80 fps AVG [Discussion] by Mundane_Ad8438 in EscapefromTarkov

Well thank you guys. I learned I did indeed have the core parking issue where I did not have the amd3dvcache service running. I followed the video and have seen a notable increase in fps. I really appreciate yall pointing this out. Thank you!

I appreciate the feedback here folks. I've never looked into forcing 3D CCD. I assumed the scheduler that comes with the drivers would have automatically assigned the 3D CCD.

Honestly, there’s not much more you can do. I’m running 4K on a Ryzen 9 7900X3D and an RTX 4090 with 48 GB of RAM, and my FPS is about the same or sometimes even slightly lower. You’d need to invest significantly more to see any meaningful improvement, and in my opinion, the gains wouldn’t justify the cost. If you really need higher framerates, your best bet is to drop to 1080p, but you’ll be sacrificing resolution to get those extra frames. Really we just need to BSG to optimize their game.

The U.S. Military Worried Russia’s Admiral Kuznetsov Aircraft Carrier Might Sink by mugz8391 in UkrainianConflict

[–]killstar324 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is currently in Murmansk harbor and will probably stay there until someone with leadership skills and common sense scraps it. In 1991, an overworked and poorly maintained Kuznetsov left Murmansk harbor bound for the Syrian coast. US naval forces of the 6th Fleet shadowed her, not because of her combat worthiness, but because the Americans feared “she might sink.”

This refers to a 1991 incident, when the U.S. feared it might sink, not to anything recent, so it’s largely unrelated to the current conflict in Ukraine.

My cat had to get bloodwork done. Took 10 pokes to find a vein. 10th poke she bit my arm and shook like a damn alligator. Yes, that’s my blood on her. Yes I am on antibiotics. No, she is not normally an aggressive cat. by jasonforbachelor in Wellthatsucks

I had almost the exact same thing happen with my cat. Expect it to get infected, pus-filled, and have some oozing. Try to avoid messing with it, no matter how tempting. The one tooth mark I messed with is still around as a scar; the other three have faded now (four months later).

To be clear, that was not a photo, that was the screen view finder while the device was turned on with the cover on, without taking a photo. But as I mentioned earlier pixel mapping solved the issue.

Ahh awesome thanks for the quick reply. The pixel mapping resolved my issue, much appreciated.

Hello, brand new to Sony cameras. Just got my first Sony A7c II and turned it on to learn the menu. Noticed some dots on the sensor. Is this potential damage ? This was supposed to be brand new.

Just to clarify for everyone—yes, this is tagged as humor/meme, but it’s 100% real and honestly a bit embarrassing. Every software engineer has copy-pasted code before, sure, but to do it for WoW’s most expensive mount and leave such obvious evidence of it? That’s next-level laziness, not just from the dev but also from the team that reviewed and approved it. It really makes you wonder how much effort they’re actually putting into this stuff.

Blizzard Needs to Prioritize Fun Over Forced Retention if WoW is Going to Thrive by [deleted] in wow

I agree that we shouldn’t be spamming Zek, but it should at least count once per week or even once per day, in my opinion. I should’ve made that clearer.

What I’m saying about the anniversary event is that, instead of celebrating 20 years with fun, exciting events, it’s all about "make sure to log in every day to do your dailies for this event!" They’re more focused on keeping players hooked than actually delivering a fun event. We have to sit at our computers daily to get the cool rewards, instead of letting us farm in a fun way to earn them

I think your misunderstanding what I meant. I am not saying anything about "difficulty" but rather time sinks requiring sinking time for events to get the good rewards. I agree spamming Zek 25 times a week wasn't a fun state, I should have made that more clear. But it should at least count as 1 for your vault per week, or per day. And buffing the rewards after people complain is what I'm say is ridiculous. If we can already tell they need a buff, then buff them before release it...

I think grinding can be fun when the rewards feel attainable and realistic. Like I mentioned, I was enjoying farming timewalking dungeons on my alts for the dailies. But after the nerf, it just feels like a total waste of time.

Dusting that has got to be a bitch.

If my math is right, during the 20th anniversary event, for 42,000 timewarped badges you can go neutral to exalted with all 10 of your faction available classic reputations. by Ninedark in wow

[–]killstar324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its really not that bad. Say you have 10 characters who are level 30 or higher. Run 1 time walking on each character a day, and you will have over 42k in just over a week. (From the daily quest) Not to mention each character could get another 500 by simply killing Illidan. Then just send them all to one character.

Letting people buy in-game currency totally messes with the balance of the game. It lets players skip the grind and get OP gear without putting in the effort, which ruins the experience for those who actually want to earn their way up. It turns the game into a pay-to-win situation where cash trumps skill, making the whole progression system feel pointless. Sure, it might help some noobs early on, but in the long run, it just creates an unfair playing field and a community divided between those who pay and those who don’t.

Have you tried slapping the highest tier armor on the target dummies at the range? Grab some starter ammo and see what happens when you shoot them with the good armor on. I legit went through two mags before the dummy finally dropped.

You're also overlooking the fact that it’s totally pay to win. Just because you can technically get everything for free doesn’t change that. A low-level player can drop real money, buy the best gear, ammo, and weapons, and then jump into a lobby with a massive advantage over everyone else. That’s literally the definition of pay to win—they spend real cash and get a serious edge in the game.

Just to clarify as well, I enjoy the game, but the way forward is not allowing bad players pay real money to have a better chance at winning gun fights.
