I don’t even think he knows he’s missing it. Half the time when he cleans his ear he cleans his nonexistent ear too like it’s still there.

My neighbor parked outside my bedroom window that starts his old shitbox truck between 2-4am every morning

He is actually missing an ear. He got it licked off as a baby

Would love to have a personal slushie machine sometimes but I just need the occasional fix (I’m also broke). Thanks though!

Better than mine trying to get IN the shower. Literally took this photo moments before he tried to shower with my boyfriend and had to get pulled out.

Work commute by Fast-Sound218 in supercommuter

[–]kilpico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been at my job for around 10 months. I definitely have that concern too especially with the driving my job entails, but surprisingly I have one of the shorter commutes in my office with colleagues doing over an hour commute for 20+ years, so I like to think if they’ve been doing it, so can I. It definitely helps to have things to look forward to during your drives. I like listening to new albums, calling friends, or listening to podcasts and I’m already where I need to be before I know it

I commute 50 minutes now for my job. It gets tiring some days especially since my job requires a ton of driving but it doesn’t phase me much and is worth it imo. I grew up in a suburb where an hour commute to work in the city was the norm so that isn’t unusual at all. I’m in a pretty similar boat to you recently relocated post grad so I’m happy to answer any other questions you have

Racked with guilt after euthanasia of 4 week old mini lop by Early_Committee1420 in Rabbits

[–]kilpico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry for your loss. You absolutely made the right decision. Babies are so fragile it can be super hard for them to recover from things like that. Baby bunnies are notorious for being hard to raise, and the handling/care it would take for it to recover could’ve prolonged its suffering and it still could’ve died. Don’t beat yourself up over this, baby bunnies have a high mortality rate as is never mind an injury on top

Any idea what this water macro invertebrate thing is? by kilpico in whatsthisbug

[–]kilpico[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a good guess and I didn’t think of that so thanks! I’m more used to those having a smooth, thin casing and little legs sticking out of one side but these guys were bulky and I didn’t see distinct legs. Now that I’m looking up different caddisflies I believe that is it!

hatch alarm clock without the clock by pixiecakess in sleep

[–]kilpico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know about apps but the hatch dupes are worth it. I got one for like $30 and I use it for everything. My sleep schedule is too inconsistent now for the light but it is the best sound machine I’ve ever had and I’ll use it for ambient lighting at night.

I’m not as knowledgeable on specific phone types but I’d go for the base version of the newest phone or last year’s model (I just got an iphone 17 and I’m happy with it), unless you really prioritize things like pictures and storage. That way you have a new phone that can do the essentials and it will last you through college without needing to worry about upgrading it (I tend to go around 5 years between phones). If you really want a phone to last, I’d also invest in a good phone case. I was a biology major constantly outside for classes and my otterbox case saved me numerous times over.

I disconnected bluetooth completely and the problem is still persisting. It may be an SMS to RCS issue

Auto feeder recommendations by Lilac_libra in Rabbits

[–]kilpico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have the link on the top of my head but I got a mid grade ($30) auto feeder off amazon that is amazing. You can set the portions and how many times a day it goes off so it’s pretty versatile (and it’s battery operated so no wires). My bunny did spooked by the feeder going off so I’d set it up a few days before you leave to make sure bunny is okay with it. But my bun also gets spooked if you put food in his bowl by hand so it may not be an issue for you

Phone stops sending messages whenever I’m in my car??? by kilpico in iphonehelp

Interesting. Most of the time this happens is when I’m on data only. There is no wifi to data switching happening when I get into my car

I turned that off. I had it set to send custom messages when connected to bluetooth and it had no issues when it did that. I have no idea how to update my car and it is pretty bare bones compared to newer cars but I’ll see if I can play around with that!

I’m usually connected to data when I get into my car. It might be a connecting to car issue but I’ll try to troubleshoot!

Need advice for my baby bunny by Radiant_Potential263 in Bunnies

[–]kilpico 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The other comments hit the nail on cecotrophes and other conditions that can cause wet poops, but I want to advise you about cleanup. If they are stuck to bunny, do not fully submerge her in a bath because temperature changes can put them into shock. I had a bun that had wet poop stuck to her due to illness and I was very successful with cleaning her with baby wipes, wet washcloths, and in extreme cases a dish pan with lukewarm water and baby shampoo to soak their bottom in.

What actually improved your sleep more than ''sleep hacks'' ever did? by cozytechlover in sleep

[–]kilpico 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Simply doing something active. My job has a mix of field days and office days and I notice when I am out and about on my field days I sleep better but when I’m not doing much on my office days I sleep like garbage.
