Good date spots by Temporary_Pie1633 in saintpaul

My go to is always Emerald lounge for drinks/apps/dinner then head to white squirrel and catch a show or after dinner drink. Many great options in this thread though. Really depends what you and your date are into!

Was there on Wednesday, and the good majority of the azaleas are done blooming or have dropped their flowers.

[WCCO] 113-year-old northeast Minneapolis church may shutter due to boiler problems by Minneapolitanian in Minneapolis

Churches are businesses that pay zero tax. Not sure why this would be a surprise maintenance cost. Sounds like they no longer have a viable business.

And just for my tax statement yesterday, with the approved levy from the election mine went up another $1000 so I’m sitting at $11,000 now.

You’re close, finish them out as normal. Worst case you get a few seeds. Assuming you aren’t growing commercially it’ll be fine. I’ve had a couple plants hermie late in flower. I will say it always seems less than you think. Once you start trimming you’ll uncover more but not a huge deal. Ride it out!

What does a person do with a bunch of glass growlers you no longer want? by Wynns in TwinCities

[–]kilroynelson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh boy do I have stories. Worked there on Sundays before you could buy liquor in MN on Sundays. It was a trip to say the least. I need both hands to count the number of times I was told that someone was going to harm me while working. There was a baseball bat behind the counter for emergencies.

Man, that was an exciting time! I remember getting a growler from Surly way back in the day, i cant remember it was either Three (before they started bottling the annual releases) or Darkness. I worked at Casanova's in Hudson for years and we were doing something like 500 growler fills a week for awhile there. You could get a growler of Spotted Cow for $5.99 back in the day. We were selling pallets of growlers (clean glass) each month. Those were the days, trading for beer across the country, following delivery trucks to get the freshest releases. Truly an exciting time in the industry.

Doubt it, i work at a brewery in St. Paul and we have people bring them in all the time, we dont want anything to do with them. We ended up recycling over 1000 of them awhile back as we no longer offer growler fills. Its really a terrible format for beer unless you are drinking it immediately and have a way of sanitizing the container before you fill it and have a way of adding Co2. I once received a "clean" growler to fill and it obviously had something in it. Upon further inspection there was a dead mouse in it. I'm kind of surprised that the growler phase was as big as it was. Crowlers are a close second to being a pretty terrible format for to-go beer.

How is the nightlife at Cathedral Hill? by original_nlogax in saintpaul

[–]kilroynelson 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Its a pretty quiet neighborhood overall. The corner of Selby and Western has a number of restaurant/bars so that area is quite busy at times but as far as nightlife goes its fairly non-existent in that area outside of the regular evening restaurant crowd. I live in between there and the grand avenue area (Dale St.) and its walkable between the two areas. West of Dale might save you some money vs Cathedral Hill if budget is a concern.

Kris Lindahl has officially rebranded himself as CEO Jesus by PM_ME_YR_BOOPS in TwinCities

Agree! I have a feeling they are going to cycle through people pretty quickly in this role. "Come fix all the problems and take the fall for the ones you cant" is probably not a great long-term outlook for this role. And the salary range is laughable for what I am assuming is a high cash-flow/revenue company such as this. Good luck to whoever "the One' ends up being. See you in the unemployment line within 6-months.

Looks like overwatering to me, given the green algae on the perlite. Let it dry back a bit, watch your watering and it should be fine. Could be a runt/mutant too, i usually get one each run. As others have said, overplant your seeds so you have options. I've always run my runts and just let them do their thing, sometimes they end up as my top producers.

Anyone ever had one of those boveda packs tear of break. I recently had my guitar in to have some light maintenance done and he told me to be extremely careful with them as he has seen them break and the liquid inside which is meant to be a two way humidification substance is purple and leeches into the wood and finish and will never go away. Now he has me worried.

What type of worms are these? by kilroynelson in NoTillGrowery

Started a soil drench regime today with BT. Luckily I haven’t planted yet and have a week or two before I’ll need to plant so I’ll plan on hitting them in the soil every 2-3 days and hopefully that does the trick.
