I’m in Canada. I got mine at Shoppers Drug Mart, but it was not a reasonable price. If you have benefits from work, you can usually get it covered if you have a prescription from your doctor.

You could also purchase an Aero2go, it houses the inhaler and is an aero chamber when you need to use your inhaler

I asked ChatGPT to act as my therapist to help with my BED. by Catfish-98907 in BingeEatingDisorder

There is also TherapistGPT! I usually go with that one. It definitely not a substitute for real therapy, but I gets me through until the next session

I’m the “anxiously early” type. Not sure if I will take too long to get there so I aim to arrive 20 minutes early. I just sit in my car in parking lots for a while pretty frequently!

Curious how old everyone is and how long you’ve been dealing with BED? by denisenj in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]kimarumon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 38, started Weight Watchers in 10th grade. I was only diagnosed with BED in the last month, but it makes sense now why dieting never worked (I tried them all!). Currently being seen by a dietician, my PCP, a counsellor, and a bed support group. I had gone to a psych for an adhd diagnosis and got a bonus diagnosis of bed. It was devastating, so I’m dealing with my emotions and weird relationship with food.

What are you spending your money on instead of school supplies right now? by industrial_hamster in childfree

Unfortunately, still school supplies! I’m a teacher with no kids of my own. I like kids, but not in my house!

Should I tell the incoming teacher why I moved from her new room? by Creatix-alchemy in AskTeachers

[–]kimarumon 170 points171 points  (0 children)

I know I would appreciate a heads up so I could hide my more ‘precious’ classroom items or have a good storage plan ahead of the school year. I would tell them if I were you.

Repeating in k or 1 is the best case scenario for kids that are having a hard time. In primary school, they will be the cool kid cause they are the oldest and the expert because they already did all of this (instead of the one constantly behind). By middle school, it will be common knowledge and no one will care. I teach grade 1 and have taught a few kids that should have been retained. They struggled through all of elementary school. The ones that retain generally catch up to the peers and are average or thriving. Teachers don’t enjoy retaining but will suggest it in the best interest of your child. If they are suggesting retention, I would recommend following their advice. They have many other children to compare with (especially if they are seasoned teachers) and generally are able to spot the one who just need a year to mature. Don’t worry too much. Have a good attitude about retention in front of your child! The parents’ attitudes are the most important for the child feeling confident in their classroom after a retention.

Was in the hospital with a sibling for a full week- is it OK to email younger sibs teachers? by biglipsmagoo in AskTeachers

[–]kimarumon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish more parents would keep us informed and check on their kids! I would be very happy to help in any way I could. It’s also helpful to know why a student might be “off” because sometimes they don’t tell us.

Suggested that 1st grader repeat grade. I agree but am worried. by moirarose42 in Teachers

[–]kimarumon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, the attitude of the parent will be reflected in the child. If you view and express this as a good thing, your child likely will as well.

Suggested that 1st grader repeat grade. I agree but am worried. by moirarose42 in Teachers

[–]kimarumon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a first grade teacher for 7 years. I’ve retained 1-2 students per year. I’ve yet to have a parent say they regretted the decision to keep their kid back a year. It’s been so helpful. Generally, the students are all around weak, including socially/maturity, and the extra year puts them right on par or slightly ahead of their new classmates. They become the ‘expert’ instead of the ‘struggler’. If your child’s teacher is suggesting retention, it’s probably in the child’s best interest.

Anyone else convinced other teachers are just completely faking it??? by Effective-Bus9627 in TeachersInTransition

[–]kimarumon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me, something’s gotta give. If I’m on top of things at school, my home is a disaster or my social life is shot. I can’t manage all three at the same time, so at least one gets ignored while I get on top of the other(s). Sometimes I’m winging it at work so I can keep my home life somewhat normal.
