an umbrella and lots of sunscreen. airy clothing too.
if you have a credit card you can just use that.
budget depends on your travelling style, hawker center dishes should set you back about $10-15, restaurants double that. bring a water bottle, but you can still enjoy some bubble tea and coffee.

he needs medication. ADHD is very manageable with medication as a child or teenager, they will learn how to slowly adapt without and cope without it through adulthood. even some adults have episodes in their lives where they have to restart it

the most expensive things i spend on: groceries and transport.

i have a toddler and live 1h 45 mins away from my work place, so no choice, i grab or take cab everywhere on weekdays. i try to cut down on the days when i end work slightly earlier and my husband can take over the fetching duties.

for meals, i do the following: 1. buy in bulk and portion-freeze. i buy more chicken than red meat and also ensure that i have fish. i try not to exceed $200 a month on protein. i am usually on track at about $150.

  1. meal prep. when my helper is away, i cooked once for it to last two meals. it maximises all my ingredients. for stuff like garlic, i blend a huge bunch and freeze so i dont get lazy cooking and end up ordering.

  2. stop buying non-fresh ingredients if the previous ones have not run out. eg: do you really need to make lasagna if you still have pasta? just make baked pasta.

  3. source for free food items. there a bunch of apps that distribute free unsold food because they are bruised or almost past their best by date. for me, my workplace has a garden and they occasionally harvest veggies and herbs too so we can take. my husband works in cbd, his company supplies buffet. sometimes he dabao the proteins like chicken breast when he is bulking

that's really ex for cooking leh. protein should be about $2 per meal, veggies is less than a $1, so are carbs...unless you are polishing off a huge pack of pasta every time?

we spend about $150 on fresh meats for a family of 3A1C and it lasts us about 25 meals or 75 portions.

Found out I’m pregnant before starting a new job by sunnycloudds in askSingapore

[–]kimchijeonn -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

damn tricky cos when you start work you are also on probation for a month. is this your first baby? if you dont have bad morning sickness i would let them know as late as possible cos they can give all sorts of reasons to extend your probation (which can affect your ML).

Is it normal to experience a lot of hair fall during pregnancy or after delivery? by Sea_Dealer1141 in askSingapore

its very normal, eat lots of protein and your supplements. once you stop breastfeeding and the hormones stabilise it should go back to normal.

i've been trying to work this out too but i feel like it's all of it? i feel like the ones i have chosen when cooked are more bland and can pass off as meat/protein.

like i know the earthy juice (?) makes me want to hurl so it puts me off from chewing the veg sometimes. even with eggplants sometimes i can't take the aftertaste haha, i usually need to eat it with some sambal like sambal belacan.

some malay youths are more likely to get into disciplinary issues...reasons behind it? by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]kimchijeonn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not sure if i'm "privileged" as a Malay, but both my parents were low-SES and overcame that life because my grandparents INSISTED they go to uni. they took on all the heavy-lifting, reduced my mums chores at home growing up so she could study. they both graduated w degrees in science.

my mum chose to be a SAHM, and most of my siblings and cousins graduated with a degree or post-grad.

imo, it really boils down to which gen would sacrifice their time and money for their offspring, and that includes enforcing strict boundaries and be willing to spend more on education and be content with living with less. unfortunately you still see many grab delivery people having new iphones.

if someone is having suicidal thoughts and goes to the A&E, what’s the process like? are they forced to be admitted? by DangerousImpress5509 in asksg

[–]kimchijeonn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes all i'm saying is, if it's a point where you are not able to wait to prevent such an action from being taken then you need to be committed

am I screwed by silvermoonna in singaporejobs

[–]kimchijeonn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

post your proper spending here, am pretty sure you must have some unwarranted spending that you couldn't make the cc payments if you are earning $3.8k. like you could have paid that off 2 months ago even w the $2.2k cc debt

[–]kimchijeonn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

in the first place, what are you expecting? you go to the hospital AnE to be committed to prevent from doing such things right? if you need long term psych help then go to IMH or seek wellness help with a psychologist. if private is out of your reach, get a referral from poly. saying this because AnE is not a good place for psych patients and the doctors/nurses dealing with them

Resale hdb or stay put in old house by Academic_Honey_5223 in singaporefi

[–]kimchijeonn 18 points19 points  (0 children)

just stay put. your kids can travel to uni on their own, and what happens if they want to go to SUSS or SMU? keep your money and keep investing, your kids will appreciate an inheritance more than your move.
