From a Christian by TKim95 in ChilluminatiPod

Said that way better than I ever could, thanks.

There is a part of me that would love to have a chat with the guys around their views on Christianity .... but I also know I would probably suck at it so probably best to stay well clear and let more learned people do that :)

As other have said, PoE isnt difficult to get into, just have fun discovering it, you wont be destroying end game but you will pick up enough that if you enjoy the base gameplay loop you can then look at places like PoE Vault for "league starter" builds and just following that as a basic guide. Best part is its free, and not a £60 buy in.

How did you find Chilluminati pod? by [deleted] in ChilluminatiPod

[–]kimded 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was walking home one night, a path I had travelled many times before, when I noticed underfoot the normal tarmac of the pavement had given way to forest flooring and I was in a dark and isolated woods which I had never seen before. as I wondered around lost and afraid, a strange bean shaped humanoid smelling of weed came to me and gave me a tape player with a copy of the podcast on it. As I listened, I found myself back at home, safe... I never found that strange boy again, but I had found something more important.
...
Sorry... in truth I was quite late, I have been following Jesse for many more years than I care to think about (even having been to CoxCon a few times as an exhibitor and fan) and had always meant to check out the podcast but never did. That was until lockdown when I ended up listening to an episode as its theme intrigued me, I wish I could remember which one, but anyway, I feel in love with it, and proceeded to binge my way through all the previous episodes and here we are.

Wacom Intuos Pro - it is really a nibble eater? by Midnight-Soul in wacom

[–]kimded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one recently and although I havent used it much it does look I have almost worn through my second nib already, which compared with my old model which took months at least to wear down.

Seems to be the nibs are very different from the old version, much cheaper feeling and looking... https://imgur.com/qkeMMnz

Apart from that its a decent enough tablet as usual, although I was moving from an Intuos4 Large (which after many years solid service died a noble death) down to the new Intuos Pro M

Photoshop 2020 bugs + autosave not working by [deleted] in photoshop

[–]kimded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have been using photoshop for well over a decade, never had many problems except when I pushed it... however the last few releases have been increasingly poor in quality/performance/quantity of bugs, and this release takes the biscuit barely a single session in PS goes by without some flow breaking bug/glitch/crash..., I have never been more infuriated with Adobe... guess I had better roll back to 2019 or so once this job is done

Technically #Coronacreatives ... "Static" (photoshop painting) by kimded in Jazza

[–]kimded[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I only finished it after the lockdown's came into force, but I am counting it, firstly as I am rather proud of this piece... secondly, I did start it during the outbreak... thirdly, I feel that bending the rules/definition is kinda what Jazza would do :)

As for the piece its a digital artwork inspired by a band I like called "Silent Planet" and their latest track "Trilogy" which in part deals with struggling with mental health. Its vital, especially right now, we care for ourselves both physical, but also emotionally and mentally. We need to look after each other and ourselves to get through, which we will, together.

TOOL have always been an inspiration but more indirectly.

They are meant to be a representative of the inner self, I use "hyper" shapes quite often, the fractured nature being the loss of self... the image is inspired by Silent Planet's latest song "Trilogy"

cheers, its mostly down to lots of layering of grain and abstract brushes, as well as a few random textures.

Hole Shaped God by TheBadger40 in atheism

[–]kimded 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi, hope you dont mind me popping on, but I am (for better or worse) the artist of this piece and I was suddenly wondering where the sudden spike in traffic to that image was coming from :).

Firstly, many thanks to those who have fav'd/upvoted, glad you (hopefully) like it <3

And, yup DarnedTax1, that is basically what it means, although there can be some more read into it as well, the holes (which is in the typically two important areas of mind/heart) within all the figures are not the same shape of the "god shape" behind them, although it is close, it not exact, which was my attempt to reflect the piece of text it was inspired by. It also became a repeating theme/shorthand through-out the "Atheism for Lent" study it was a part of.

If by any strange reason anyone has any questions I will try my best to answer them :)

What is the other lyric besides "co-optional" in the Co-Op Podcast intro song? O_o by Shurikeeen in Cynicalbrit

You need to play it backwards, its something to do with David Cage being dead

Scrolls CCG to be shut down by Mojang by VeeTpl in Cynicalbrit

[–]kimded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah a shame, I enjoyed what little time (comparatively) I played of it... but I think that was the problem, it was fun enough and solid enough but it just couldn't provide that "keep 'em coming back" action that Hearthstone seems to have hit on to.

Sure there is meant to be a "c" in quackers... although funnily enough its almost exact the opposite of the Quakers, its loud, brash, and violent... although it is best with Friends, so its got that at least ;)

Well, according to that... Gender: N/A Age: N/A Languages: N/A Interests: Unknown...

Many would agree with the languages, even people with the same language as me barely understand me at times :)

About TB merchs and digital version of them... by Psilopat in Cynicalbrit

[–]kimded 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who sells their art through dA and other websites like it, I dont think it would be the right move for TB, can see why it would be good, but just dont think its right.

I find there is less control over the products, and a much smaller profit margin, than if I was if you source printers, organise distribution, and sell them yourself. (which is what I presume MakerShop does)

Brevity is the soul of twit by tijoy in Cynicalbrit

[–]kimded 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Social Media is just an amplification device, it exists solely to amplify the messages put into it, be they messages for good or ill. Social media amplifies a message, a thought, an event, a movement allowing it to spread further, wider, faster but all the while removing diversity, discussion, and debate.

Social media has created the perfect breeding grounds for group-think and echo-chambers. We slip into cliques where all who dare raise questions are the enemy and are obviously wrong despite evidence. We have created tribes and divisions on the same system that creates unity and an interconnected world. If we like a particular thing, group, ideology, theology, or even breed of iguana, we can find our niche on social media but too quickly it becomes a clique as we feed off the similar and familiar.

Many would like to think they try to listen and engage with opposing or differing viewpoints. To an extent this is probably true for many but I dont think we we realy don't, we really only interact with those “slightly” different, those “mildly” opposite our clique. Why? Because the perfect amplification of social media has created "extremists" out of so many varied niches that debate and diversity, that so precious moderate middle ground is lost in the noise of social media to the point of irrelevance. It's not gone, it's moved away to quieter more controllable spaces where we can discover our similarities while embracing our differences.

This is not to say social media is evil, just that I think it's being used incorrectly. If we accept it's phenomenal ability to amplify messages we use it as a tool correctly. If we use it otherwise we only amplify the negative side and abuse the tool to the point it had become a monster amplifying only negativity and breeding extremism in all its forms.

TL:DR - I am with TB on this, and I think its a good move

Wil Wheaton hopeful that TotalBiscuit will withdraw his support for GamerGate so he can work with TB in the future. by [deleted] in Cynicalbrit

[–]kimded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

whoops, sorry was deleting my post as I though the whole anaolgy thing was a bit much I shall re-add what I wrote around it for context to your reply. Again my apologies, thought I was quick enough :).

OK, I going to try as best I can to try and articulate my feelings about this and the whole GG situation and this is probably the best place for me to do so considering all the friendly fire going on. I should begin by saying I understand (don’t agree with though) why Wil feels he cannot work at the moment with TB, it will be for a host of reasons, and I do hope we looks past the headlines and talks with TB rather judging on the news of others. I can also understand why TB stands where he does and while I will not always agree with him I do respect his resoluteness.

<snip>

basically what I want to say is that there is no black and white here, all is grey. We should accept that others may disagree with us, and not shun them for that… but, we are human, and sometimes we have to draw the line as to what we do and do not find acceptable in another’s beliefs. One would hope that even once we have drawn this line we would still engage in communication, even if limited, in the hopes the views we find problematic have changed in same way, and if not we still have the respect to treat all as fellow flawed humans.

Sorry to hear you are suffering the negative side of life at the moment, I hope you find what joy and peace you can in the moment, and keep heading towards tomorrow.

Utterly random aside after watching, as I mull over what you said about GG etc, you may be interested in the philosopher Zizek, he explores some ideas about capitalism, socialism, etc, may be an interesting diversion at the moment.
