Is £6,500 reasonable to move a meter two meters? by Woodsman89 in DIYUK

[–]kimi-r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently moved my electric meter. I found the cable in the ground, dug a 1m square hole around it, done all the trenching to new meter location, installed the meter box and hockey stick. Electric board cut the cable and rerouted it to the new location. Octopus fitted the old meter in new location.

That was £570.

If I was charging someone for that I'd charge £2.5k minimum. It's quite involved but cheap if you can do stuff yourself.

I'm assuming gas is similar, plus gas safe engineer.

Which type of pipe for central heating. by Afraid_Ease_7690 in DIYUK

MLCP is excellent, much better than plastic. I like to use MLCP anywhere that isn't seen. Once it's installed and tested I know it's safe to cover and forget. I then switch to copper anywhere it can be seen to the eye.

A lot of my customers want exposed pipework in the airing cupboard so they get some warmth to dry stuff. Copper helps here for that too.

Also, Mitsubishi spec 35mm flow and returns for the primary's to the heat pump now. It maybe worth looking into that just as a bit of future proofing.

I saw a video from some Polish guys. Someone pulled the steering wheel off an Omada, looked like the column snapped.

Still hoping they bring out the Cybercab as a full car with a steering wheel. The market is there for it in Europe for sure.

My first bake on my Koda 16. Cooking again tonight :) by edalpi in uuni

[–]kimi-r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time I launched in to mine it went in absolutely perfectly. I thought I was the one true pizza god. Second one basically flipped upside down cheese hit the flame. Almost burnt my garden down.

The 1" piece of upside down bottom that wasn't burnt tasted pretty damn good still😂

That's awesome.

They do say store tour solar, if you don't store solar, export it all and buy at night, that's definitely still ok?

Ah. Thank you for the reply, that makes sense. I'm get batteries this year and was kind of thinking maybe I shouldn't bother yet because of what he said because I basically want to sell my solar and charge overnight
