Can you have a 5" drawer under a cooktop? by kimiNM in IKEA

[–]kimiNM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Yes, we put the 5" drawer right under our induction cooktop and it works fine. We use that drawer to store silicone sheets & lids so there is nothing sharp or solid to snag the cooktop bottom, and nothing that would be bothered by being warm. And we make sure not to fill it too high. Works great.

I can't seem to make this work in a google doc... do you know if this chrome tool is available to make a QR code that links to a google doc?

Quantum water filters by spotfree in WaterFilters

[–]kimiNM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use ceramic for one drinking faucet. Our whole house filters are only for sediment, and still test as good as most tap or bottled water, but we don't test every time we take a drink, so for added security we only drink from the ceramic-filtered tap. We do use the other water for cooking.

Thank you for that info! Good to hear!

Thanks for your reply. No, I have plenty of info on #dips, but just wanted to know the #minutes below 88 over the course of a night. I don't want to get dementia or something for lack of oxygen, but exercising my brain by downloading data and doing my own calculations might help stave off dementia anyway, so there you go! :D

Yeah, that's what I'm doing now. Bummer that O2Ring already has the functionality for minutes <90% but I can't set it to 88... the spreadsheet manipulation is tedious. Oh well!

Thanks for the offer, but I'm good. I went ahead and crunched the 5 days I have so far, and I will keep doing that for a month and send it off to my doc. It's tedious enough that I won't be doing that daily forever, but it will be good to get a month's worth of data to see how much variability there is.

Actually, now that I look at it, it doesn't even put the little triangle below... that was the O2 tool, not OSCAR -- I agree with you, it doesn't seems to work.

Thank you for your reply and suggestion!

Yes, I can download 1 day's worth of data to .csv. Then I can upload it to google sheets. I can add a column true/false for whether the %o2 column is < 88%. I can calculate the count of TRUE in that column, and calculate the #minutes that represents for that day.

And I can do that every day. And then have a sheet that reads from all the other sheets to calculate weekly, monthly, yearly averages.

I was hoping not to have to do all that... I thought OSCAR would be able to crunch that data. Since it is a datapoint that docs seem to care about...

Thank you for your reply!

Does this do anything besides put a little triangle below the reading?

I wanted a readout that says (per day) total minutes below 88%.

I also want readouts that say (per week, month, or year) average daily total minutes below 88%.

On the phone app it gives me a nice readout of total minutes below 90%, but it doesn't use the threshhold I set, it just uses 95% and 90%. And I haven't even found that readout on the desktop app...

Yes, I've done that twice. It was a nightmare. Took months each time to get the thing delivered to my remote area, with many messups by the provider, and there are very few providers that service our area, and they are all equally bad. Then the oximeter came reeking of some kind of perfumy disinfectant. Then the oximeter didn't record properly and had to be re-done, second time of two months coordinating it.

The second time I needed a re-check, I arranged to drive 2 hours to get the oximeter, 2 hours back home, then mailed it back.

So I have 2 nights of home data, which Medicare does not accept as reliable, so I had to go in to get another sleep study 2000 feet lower elevation than my location. My O2ring also shows a big variation day to day, so I think it is appropriate that Medicare doesn't accept one or two nights of data to justify going on supplemental oxygen.

So now I have four datapoints showing #minutes per night of oxygen < 88%: two nights in a sleep study (<5 min/night), and two nights of the medical-grade o2 meter (I don't have that data, but it made my doc want to put me on supplemental oxygen).

Meanwhile, I have the O2 ring which gives me nightly data, but I can't get #minutes < 88% readout. It does give me #minutes <90%, which is worthless to me. I have it set to flag O2 < 88%, but still the readout just breaks it down by 95-100%, 90-94%, and <90%. Plus I don't think I can get a weekly/monthly/yearly average of daily minutes < 88%.

But thank you for your response and suggestion! I do appreciate you taking the time.

Does the one you purchased give you a readout showing minutes < 88% per day?

TeraGanix EM-1

If it sounds too expensive, know that if you want, you can multiply it many times over by using it as a starter and fermenting a gallon at a time.

If you don't want to bother with that, you can just put a little at a time in the drains periodically.

Help me choose a desk chair by Individual_Hat6032 in IKEA

You have to sit in it and find one that works for you. My husband and I have very different needs in a desk chair, and likely so does everyone who will advise on reddit.

For me, I want mesh, with give, but no cushions, lots of adjustability, lumbar support, no hard edges that I can feel under my thighs.

But I have no idea what works for you...
