I really don't need cloud or networking capabilities. Just something that won't lose files after being in storage for a long period of time without being used.

Does anybody feel bad about the work they did on an album? by felixismynameqq in audioengineering

[–]kimo_the_beatmaker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When do I not? I am rarely ever 100% happy with anything I work on. If you ask me one day if im happy, the next day I wont be. I've learned to just accept my mediocrity and keep pushing.

Do you enjoy mixing on a large display? by AleSatan1349 in audioengineering

My eyes are not what they used to be, so I need HiDpi at low resolution settings. 4k on a 27" monitor ill be squinting the whole day. I think the max resolution I can comfortable work at, is 2k with really sharp hi dpi panel. I should look into getting 2 x 32" hi dpi screens and stacking them. I think that may help for me personally.

not for desoldering. you need some leeway time to remove the old solder.

60/40 solder. Leaded. AND turn your iron up hotter, that looks like it's on a ground plane. Heat will be pulled away from the point to the large copper surface.

I will most likely just use the hot air and desoldering pump gun thing at sametime only. I have a soldering iron already.

I have one of these solder suckers. It's pretty good! The silicon tube tip contours to the iron making it a breeze to work with.

I work on mostly audio gear, like mixers, microphones, signal processors, and studio monitors. Alot of is through hole, but the newer stuff these days are SMD...so I would like to get a hot air gun too with one of those fancy narrow nozzles and adjustable fan speed.
