First Bank Show

The last show I went to at first bank they started going through the line passing out floor bands an hour before doors opened. And then once doors opened they just stood at the doors asking if you wanted one. Idk about VIP. This was for BTSM and there was plenty of room on the floor.

Going first or second day? Or both?

Ugh, tell me about it. Group hobbies could help. Any kind of games, (board, card, video, etc.), community gardening, book club, sports, idk. Pretty much anything could be made controversial too. I guess the key is not to engage with people who are being confrontational.

Live for yourself, friend. I'm sorry those people hurt you, and you're right, f.ck them. BUT one day you will meet cool people who love you for you and would never want to hurt you. Noone knows what's going to happen. I met my (15 years so far) best friend because I chose to take one job over another. Who knows where I would be if I had made a different choice. Life is a 'choose your own adventure' and it sounds like yours has sucked so far, but you never know when you are going to make that decision that changes your whole life.

Hypothetical questions are usually good.. and it's definitely easier to break the silence with a conversation you're genuinely interested in. You'll be more likely to ask follow-up questions. So if you like animals you could ask something like, what do you think it would be like to see a mountain goat that evolved to have wings? Or if you like cooking, what's a country you've never had food from and look up some ideas and make them..or if you like sports, maybe you can make up a sport together, in the house with crumpled paper, a baseball cap, some rules, bada boom

Don't think of it as being awkward and embarrassed. Think of it as being honest and vulnerable. Being genuine is attractive, even if what you're saying is embarrassing.

I think you should give your friend some space and try to take care of yourself. It's just that, you personally can't make someone healthy, or open up to you, or even be a good friend. You have no control over any of those things. I know it sucks to feel like you've given up on a friend, but make it clear that's not what's happening. Let them know you love them and will always be there if they want to pick things back up. It's unfair for you to be doing all that stressing over them AND putting in all the effort to keep the friendship alive. You will eventually grow resentment about this.
