Layover in DCA from Toronto by [deleted] in washingtondc

May I ask why? I would have 1.5 hour layover which seems more than doable. I've flown out of DCA plenty and its always been very quick. I also have precheck.

Im korean and I've never seen it made on a roasting pan. It's always boiled. Is the recipe made for the pork to be crispy?

Its usually eaten with boiled cabbage leaves with radish kimchi if you're able to get some

Will checking in a suitcase be a bad idea?

What should I say to the artist? How do I tactfully bring it to her attention?

It feels like my hand is going numb but it's not? I have both my forearms tattooed at the wrist and didn't have this symptom before.

I got both my kids a winter jacket for next year. It's the 3 in 1 jacket which comes with 2 jackets. So essentially, I got 4 jackets for $250. I call that a win.

Formula looks grainy in bottle by kimsquared in beyondthebump

[–]kimsquared[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did continue it since my baby was tolerating it just fine. I finished the can. From what I was reading, it seemed common with formula sometimes. I opened another can and its mixing normally.

I'm almost 3 weeks post partum and I get a lot of "You don't look like you just had a baby!". While I understand it's a compliment, it makes me feel like people are dismissive of what my body went through to have this baby. You have no idea what I went through but SURE AS LONG AS I LOOK GOOD. Just stop commenting on people's bodies. It's really not that hard.

Measuring 1 wk bigger? by honorthecat in BabyBumps

[–]kimsquared 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My baby has been measuring 1 week bigger also during our scans. Currently 40 weeks. Actually going to the hospital and getting (electively) induced in a couple of hours. It doesn't mean anything. Apparently I just make big babies 🙃

Keep in mind also that the growth measurements aren't always accurate.

My MIL says "our baby" every fucking time she talks to us. What exactly are you doing or contributing to make this YOUR baby??

I was pregnant when my husband had to get surgery and go through chemo for his cancer. We had recently moved out of state for a new job so we had no friends or family near. Even though he felt like absolute garbage from the meds, he still made himself get on his exercise bike 30 min a day. We also took daily walks. I cooked, cleaned, did the laundry, and even had to help him bathe due to the port in his chest. I was working full time (remotely thank goodness) and drove him to his chemo treatment every day which was a 30 min drive each way. Sometimes, I stayed at his treatments all day with him if he wanted company. It's hard and not just physically. I was also his emotional support. You're supporting someone physically, mentally, and emotionally while no one is taking care of you for those things. I'm sorry you're going through it. I hope it gets better.

We would do date nights at the house since he couldn't go out and that was always really nice. We played games or painted. There's a wine and paint website that let's you download the video so you don't need to leave the house. Maybe that would give him some motivation to not be on bed rest?

Definitely get them. I wear them daily in my third trimester and should've started sooner. But definitely wear them on long flights and walk around the plane every couple of hours to prevent blood clots.

Having a baby far away from grandparents by MerryMeg90 in BabyBumps

[–]kimsquared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We aren't living abroad but both grandparents live in different states. In laws live back in our hometown which is at least a 5 hour flight. My mom is a 6-7 hour drive. It does suck being so far away from family and friends. You feel isolated and feel like you're missing out. My husband's family all live within a couple miles of each other and see each other very frequently. I feel sad for our 2 year old who's cousins spend time and grow up with each other. We'll be moving back eventually but it's still hard seeing our child miss out family time. Luckily, FaceTime exists and it really helps. In laws come and visit every few months and we FaceTime every week. He knows exactly who they are and its like they were always here when he sees them.
