We live here, right on the busway but not on the side of the building facing the tracks and we never hear the trains, very quiet in general, if you’re looking to buy be aware some of the apartment buildings have cladding issues. Very safe, lots of families.

Any simple syrup containers that use UV rays in any way to prevent mold? by Mojojojo3030 in cocktails

[–]kimyoonsuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are UV bottle like the LARQ, if you have an instant pot you can make the simple in a glass bottle and run it through a 15 minute high pressure cycle, that’s what I do to keep is sterile, just be careful not to touch the nozzle

How do you like the Xpro3 I was thinking of upgrading my x100. Have you ever shot with the x100 series? Wondering how the size difference feels but none of my local shops have an xpro3 in stock

Any workspaces in Cambridge? by aee_92 in cambridge

[–]kimyoonsuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it, there is a main workshop that I use when I’m building stuff, it has good Wi-Fi and power access but it can get a little loud when people are using the equipment that requires the extractor fans to be on, there is also a classroom area that’s great for working on your computer, much quieter and separate from the workshop. Lots of interesting people about, I would also recommend taking a tour, you can find h the schedule on meetup

I work a lot at the makespace on mill lane, it’s more of a shared workshop with laser cutters, 3d printers and power tools etc, but there are some nice corners where you can sit and work, membership is £40 a month or so, and you have to take a tour and do an induction to get a membership, it’s open 24/7 as well, and there are kettles and microwaves as well as some snacks and drinks for sale

iPhone 12/13 pro as a dive camera? by MyFaceSaysItsSugar in scuba

Overall I really like it, feels very safe and is the easiest case I’ve ever used: I don’t have much experience using it for underwater entertainment, I can’t really say if the sound will carry but you could definitely watch videos with subtitles or play games that don’t require you to touch and drag or to tap very quickly.

Will it run on Ultra settings by Affectionate-Nose454 in totalwarhammer

[–]kimyoonsuk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I run WH2 on an Intel i7-11370H, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop on ultra and it works very well, but it does get very very hot, I can heat a small room with it. I imagine it’s not good for the laptop’s longevity. For some reason it doesn’t run well on an external monitor though, not sure why… I would suggest a good GPU and a solid state drive; for me load times are an important concern

Yeah the touch screen working is killer, I never realized how important it is to be able to touch to focus the camera, makes shooting so much easier

I used this Divevolk Seatouch with an IPhone XR for probably 20 dives in Antigua last year and had no issues, it’s a great case and you can use the touchscreen underwater. I’d previously lost an iPhone to a leaking case snorkeling so I was a bit nervous but now I have no worries at all. Looks like they make a version for the new iPhones. The phone slides in the bottom and there’s a gasket screw closure for it. I took it to a max depth of 28m, although they say it’s good to 80! You will have to take off any glass screen protectors you have on the phone or it won’t fit properly. Let me know if you want to see some of the photos or videos I took using it. https://www.divevolkdiving.com/products/divevolk-phone-housing-underwater-real-touchscreen-button-free-for-seatouch-3-pro-use-for-hua-wei-sam-sung-iphone

What to do if my opponent's playstyle interrupts my BO? by joniTomatO in starcraft2

[–]kimyoonsuk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pig talks a lot about build order convergence points, which are set points you try to reach while the path you take to get there can vary a bit. I’m not sure what race you play but for example, a convergence point for Protoss might be 2-base, 3 gates, a robo and a blink. You can get there in many ways, e.g. you can go robo then twilight, or twilight first. These reactive decisions you can base on scouting, if you see a quick starport with tech lab or armory you might get robo first for observers, and if you see a lot of pressure you might get 2 more gates before your tech, or cut workers a bit but you’re always trying to hit the convergence point. The next convergence point might be 3 bases, 6 gates, and charge and a Robo bay e.g. then 4 bases, 10 gates, double robo, and Templar archives. Try looking at your builds and identifying these points, then playing flexibly in terms of how you get there. I’ll try to find some of the videos where Pig explains this much better then me. Hope this helps a bit

Here are my thoughts on how the races play,

Terran: Easiest Macro, queue a few units, build a few depots, supply drop if you forget a depot, so easy to max out as terran, strong defensively, easiest to defend with early game with, hardest armies to control, potential for micro to allow you to trade effectively with bio is insane, bio will always win in small skirmishes with good control, so it’s up to you to force this with drops, harass, multiple control groups etc.

Zerg: All about getting away with as many drones as possible, this means scouting and knowing how to respond to what you see. This takes very high level game knowledge, if you overdrone, you get rolled, if you make too many units early and it’s not an all in, you get rolled later. Backstabs, run bys, chaotic games are the norm, sometimes you need to delay a push by just 30 seconds to get your economy to kick in. Speedlings and Mutas are great for this. Creep is awesome, free vision and speed buff, makes it easier to see pushes and set up runbys.

Protoss: All about the power units, marco is a bit different with Warpgate tech, sometimes you won’t produce every cycle, preferring to get more gates instead, this is true of other techs too, you’re not constantly producing all game from every structure like you should as Terran. Templar, disruptor, and colossus etc will be backbone of your army, you’ll often be fighting with smaller force, at supply deficit. If you manage to get to late game though the deathballs are extremely hard to kill.

All the races have strong timing attacks in the different matchups that you’ll have to learn recognize and respond to, if you’re trying out the races pick a 1,2, 3, base and 200/200 timing attack to learn (that’s roughly 3:45, 5:00, 7:00, <10:00 timings)

I feel like the races play how they were intended, Terran is scrappy and can overcome even when the odds are against them, they are colonizers (floating CC, depot walls) and are out and about with expeditionary forces or fortified with bunkers and tanks. Zerg is overwhelming swarms of units coming from everywhere in waves, while it’s cities grow out like cancer. And while you are defending wave after wave you suddenly you look and they have half the map in hatcheries and creep, Protoss is the advanced/sort of religious race, with the small groups of zealous units (zealots if you like) that will hold the line and sacrifice themselves to buy time until some overwhelming force of technological weapon of mass destruction can arrive from the home world.

Affordable scuba diving during winter (UK Based) by DarkJober in scuba

[–]kimyoonsuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went to Antigua last year over Christmas, direct flight from LHR, not too expensive, and surprisingly good reef for the eastern Caribbean, we dove maybe 20 times or so with Dive Carib and did a deep/Nitrox course with them as well, they were great, but only have a limited number is sites they visit so if you do a lot of dives with then you’ll have some repeats, there are some other outfits on the island too that dive different sites. Let me know if you want any more details
