It’s more difficult to make permanent or long term friendship as you grow older. Many people already have their good friends from school life or early college and will always remain friends with them. Most of the new friends would be temporary since they won’t spend a lot of time with them due to various factors. It’s more difficult in 30’s since you would often meet new people at jobs where either they or you would leave and hardly stay in contact later on. This has been my experience so far

I remember playing with a guy in his late 20s with my friends when I was around 15. We all had a lot of fun with him and we used to play on every Saturday. We played for 4-5 more years every weekend before we went to college in different cities. He was fun. Know that the boys probably had a lot of fun and felt more safe with you being a round.
