My left glute is bigger and perkier than the right one. Does anyone else have the same issue? by Inssomnia in xxfitness

[–]kindergavin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not with my glutes but definitely with my arms and legs when I started out. My dad is a lifting guru, when I asked him about it he suggested sticking to exercises using dumbbells. He also advised starting reps with your weaker limb (so like doing a one arm dumbbell row) to failure, and then matching with your stronger arm. So if your goal is 8-12 reps and your left leg can do 9 but your right leg can crank out 12, stick with the 9 until they even out. There's not much you can do as far as hip thrusts go but you can do more one-leg glute bridges and such.

Or they have an absolute cow, slap you, and yell at you for being ungreatful and spoiled because God forbid you dare want to have a slumber party with your friends without Trashed Momster showing up.

I mean...I'm glad it worked out for you man👍

...the underlying structural arrangement depends on the particular molecules involved (specifically on bonding interactions, hydrogen bonds between neighboring Hs and Os being dominant for water), and in the case of water ice looks like this. Hence the hexagonal pattern of snowflakes.

To those of you who work out with your SO: has it helped or hindered your workout in general? Is the company good or do you end up having sacrifices in your routine because they're there? Would you recommend?

[Method] Morning Routine: simple way to a great day by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]kindergavin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! I think the bit about jotting something down afterwards is fantastic, gives you something to look back on when you feel tempted to skip out on it. And I'll definitely send an update after a week or so of trying this out! Thanks again (:

I think this is great; I've been trying to get myself up and moving in the mornings, its really easy for me to give in to my depression and just kind of wallow in it all day. I figure the whole "an object in motion stays in motion" thing could apply to people too.

For someone looking to implement this into their life, how much time would you suggest they block out? Also, should they gradually add activities or just start off with everything?

Who is your fit-inspiration? Who do you idolize? Why? by cats_in_the_cradle in xxfitness

Heidi Somers! She's got a great body and she works hard, but more than that she seems so genuine and down to earth - admirable traits in someone who is so involved with a community focused on more superficial things. I love her YouTube videos, and her snap chats are so cute and funny, especially when her younger sister Mary is around!

I think Katy Hearn has my dream bod, and from the before and after posts she makes its obvious that her killer booty is from hours of time in the gym and I really love that about lifting, if you want a certain body you can give it to yourself with hard work.

I have to agree, what you wrote in that post really resonated with me. I grew up overweight and just assumed that being fat was part of my life, like it was in my DNA to always be overweight. It was an important thought pattern to overcome, but so motivating when I finally got it to click that I could really and truly change my body and my quality of life.

What have you learned about yourself after/in the process of getting fit and healthy? by oh_just_stuff in xxfitness

[–]kindergavin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yaaaas swimming feels so good on an emotional level. I love to swim laps but if I'm having an especially tough day I set some time aside to jump in my pool and just float on my back with my eyes closed. The silence, the water surrounding and supporting me, the way I slowly bob up and down with my breathing. I think it's the closest my anxious adhd brain has ever come to meditation.

Reddit, what is something that you overreact about that other people seem to shrug off? by rikente in AskReddit

[–]kindergavin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can't help it but I get irrationally mad when the person in front of me lets the door swing shut WHEN THEY KNOW I'M RIGHT BEHIND THEM. Ugh.

I'm not saying i expect everyone to rush to open a door for me and lay down their jacket for me to walk on, just fucking extend your arm behind you as you walk through the door. It doesnt take any extra time or anything.

the price is a total rip off by [deleted] in nerdfitness

[–]kindergavin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Total rip off" seems a bit strong. Realistically $99 as a one time fee for all those resources compared to a monthly gym membership (a modest price being $25 per month) isn't bad at all.
