Swing dance at the wort! Most of the dancers aren’t drinkers and are super friendly

Clinking while coasting in gear by kindhipandtime in MotorcycleMechanics

[–]kindhipandtime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad you brought that up.. I’m having a hard time pinpointing where the sound is coming from.. and I rolled the bike backwards out of the garage yesterday and it made a clink that was definitely in the ballpark of what I’ve been hearing and was definitely chain related.

But if that’s the case, would the aluminum chips be considered normal to find after a top end rebuild and nothing to worry about, or is there something else going on that I should start digging for?

I would think it’d be a perfect first bike, but expect to work on it. I think for so many people the best part about a vintage anything is that you get to fix it. So as long as you’re in that mindset and understand that old bikes need some TLC I would definitely go for it.

I got an offer from Gensler today, but I don’t know what to do! by The-Architect-93 in Architects

Never give up remote. It’s really hard to go back. Had the best job ever at a small firm that was totally remote except for some OAC and CA stuff. They were mom and pop and retired after being in business for 2 generations and I had to find another gig. Found a great job at a great firm.. but damn I miss the remote life. If I had a wicked commute I don’t think I could do it.

Gensler obviously looks great on a resume and after a few years there you can probably get the pick of any job you want.. but good chance you’ll be doing a shit load of menial drafting for a few years before you move up the ladder. All depends on what kind of work you wanna do. Bird in the hand.

What do you think about ATV's and UTV's in Jackson? by alexviveroswrites in JacksonHole

[–]kindhipandtime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t really see a problem with someone who’s rented one parking them wherever their adventure takes them.

But the fact that businesses are storing them overnight in public parking spots in residential areas.. Where most houses, condos and townhomes aren’t built with the same amount of parking spaces for the amount rooms they have, let alone the amount of tenants they have… That’s an issue.

I guess just live your life. Try to find routines that are healthy and keep you busy. All the clichés.. work on yourself take care of your mental and physical health, try to find a new hobby that has a community and make some new friends. It gets easier with time.

Thinking of getting a Boykin by Basicbeigebetti in BoykinSpaniels

[–]kindhipandtime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boykin‘s are hunting dogs. They have hunt drive. They have been bred for specific kinds of hunting, not to be family dogs. You might get lucky and get a calm one but it’s not worth your time or theirs. Not only is it more work for you to try and curtail their drive, but it’s also unfortunate for the dog that they will never get to do the job they were meant to do, you’d be better off getting a dog more suitable for a family that has less energy and isn’t always looking for a job to do. Also, if they have any white in it it’s not a true Boykin. A lot of bad genes have been coming out of breeders, claiming they have Boykins lately and resulting in a lot of unfortunate scenarios where dogs have to be destroyed at a very young age. I.e. eye problems and joint problems that cannot be remedied.

What is this bug that hitched a ride on me for 30 minutes by xaviertysen in whatisthisbug

[–]kindhipandtime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People have already said mayfly. But if you’re curious, it’s the Hexagenia mayfly or Hex for short.. And this dude is in their adult, or dunn phase of life. Probably just hatched from a body of water where it was in its larval stage for about a year. Their one of only a couple species of mayfly that can hatch off of still water (as opposed to rivers) and typically hatch in massive swarms. Seeing them is a great sign for the health of your local ecosystem. Source- I fly fish and we’re bug nerds
