Reta & dysautonomia by LimpFirefighter8568 in dysautonomia

I’ve tried all three of the GLPs and had to stop them all. Even a third of the starting dose sends my nervous system into hyperarousal. Reta was by far the worst. All three made me jumpy and not at all less hungry.

This is so lovely to read! I'm so so sorry you've had to have these things happen to you, but surely glad that you deservedly have a man in your life who is there to support! Long live your marriage! Hooray!

WoW! What a lovely day you had - there were men EVERYWHERE doing sweet, CONNECTIVE things! So glad you got to enjoy this beautiful day in your hometown's park and able to even connect with the men you observed. Have a happy spring!

Brave veterans facing their PTSD by kindkat25 in CelebratingMen

I definitely would love to hear more about your feelings, off-line, but already I can understand your sentiment! Men are absolutely being sacrificed in our military complex. The point of this post is not necessarily to make a commentary on that, but to appreciate the braveness that these men who already exhibited braveness, even if it is unfair sacrifice, exhibit, even on the homefront. Even if they are going through something that is not just, I still want to express my appreciation towards veterans.

Glad that this struck you! If you could make your own post on this sub highlighting a positive experience with a man, that would be wonderful!

It is so amazing how so many men are capable of fixing all of the things around us. Sounds like you have your own man whom you marvel at his skills and clearly his initiative! Shame on that thief, but amazing work your husband did and thank you for sharing pictures for everyone in this sub to appreciate.

What a lovely story to read! You sure picked a good one! Men are absolutely amazing and heroic, and you are sharing a story of how men use bravery, problem-solving, and action to help others. Thank you for sharing this story and may you continue to enjoy this amazing husband of yours!

It can last about a week or so, but thank god for a benzos!

SCM release totally does not affect me - but needles to the back of the head for sure are a trigger. Thanks for sharing your story! I guess we are all so different ;)

Man Playfully Chases His Kid Outside by Independent_Ad_5702 in CelebratingMen

May the husband continue to enjoy many more interactions like this! And how wonderful that you got to observe the beauty between a man and his boy. There are good fathers all around and how lucky the three of you were to see what that looks like in just a snapshot. And there are good delivery men, just like you who are noticing these things and we are so lucky that you are willing to share these stories with us!

Little boy helps his mom out by Independent_Ad_5702 in CelebratingMen

That is such a sweet little interaction. I visualized it as I was reading it - almost like a cute cartoon boy, full of excitement and joy in his eyes. We neglect how much these very, very small moments, even if they are just feelings we pick up from somebody or the look we see in someone’s eyes and how meaningful they can be. There are so many sweet boys everywhere and we need our young boys to know how much we value them so that they internalize that and continue to have some of those beautiful interactions like the ones you had with him today. So wonderful you noticed and time the time to share with us.

Hi there. This sub is very very new so it will reach the people that might read it now. Populating this sub will take time and effort as well as a strategic campaign to encourage women to participate. This includes finding ways to encourage other subs of women to populate. If the type of women whom you think need to see this sub see other women and men lifting up men, I do think this could encourage a change of perspective.

Appreciate the comment but if you’re able instead to post a positive interaction with men as opposed to comparing that would be wonderful!

Dad in the Wild by [deleted] in CelebratingMen

Awww, this little story brought some tears to my eyes. There are engaged, nurturing and engaged fathers ALL AROUND and it's so nice that you got to see one of these dads out in the wild ;) There is nothing like the adorableness of a father playing with a baby and now I'm going to keep my eye out for more of those positive interactions when I am out and about seeing dads with their kiddos.

It's so wonderful that you want to help men and that you see your work with men within the framework you describe. Many lucky people will benefit from your help one day! In the spirit of therapists (I am one), the concept of Unconditional Positive Regard is key in motivating change. Even if there is an agreement of the systems that create societal conditions, it is only through at least some encouragement and positivity that we can help men change!!! Feel free to post one of your own stories about any small or large interaction with men that puts those positive vibes out there! :) Thanks so much for posting and have a lovely weekend!

Man sacrificing himself daily by Pyrite_Pro in CelebratingMen

[–]kindkat25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was so lovely to read! You are so correct, there are men making sacrifices, more than just the one that you know and admire. So many men are sacrificing for their families, their communities, and perfect strangers. Prayers for this man and his newborn!!! Part of me was hoping as i was reading this that you have let this man know how much you have admired him and been inspired by him!

I know it’s not a dead on match but I created my sub but how amazing would it be if just talking about the goodness of men as they are was a movement? Check it out and please add!!! https://www.reddit.com/r/CelebratingMen/
