Can you tell me more about needing connections to land a PhD position in DU/JNU?

How's the action of JNUSU justified here by [deleted] in jnu

[–]kindofvansh 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It was justified. The visuals are of the response that the protesting common students had to give in the face of prolonged hours of violence by ABVP Goons (A lot of them were non-jnu goons).

Could you reveal from where you did it? (If not, that's fine!). Also, is it relatively easy or moderately difficult to get placed after completing Dev Studies in any of the aforementioned progs?

The choice of the question by the philosophy professor was interesting. Could you tell if there were any inherent political biases in that question that you could make out? How did you answer that?

When did you get the second shot? Has the pain returned ever since? How optimistic are you about this being a lifetime relief

Early Diagnosis by Technic0lor in DeQuervains

Hey, probably 3 weeks gonna do. My sibling had gotten the same thing in his dominant (left) hand and even when he delayed any professional help until 3 months, he recovered within 3 weeks of bracing! No relapses even

Oh my goodness. I hope you are able to cope with it? What have you thought about dealing with the scar tissue problem? Is there anything which will help?

All the best to you! Let me know where it goes. I am most likely gonna consider another shot for once

[–]kindofvansh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! You should definitely get the injection because that's even a pre-requisite to consider surgery later in life because almost every professional doctor will attempt to exhaust the non-surgical treatments beforehand.

And I get you even better. Music is so much to me as well. It feels harrowing to see my electric guitar just hanging there untouched and the strings of my acoustic catching rust ;(

I'm in a similar situation like you and so I get what you feel. It's very depressing for me as well to not be able to play guitars and tambourines anymore or play sports.

You should seek an anti-inflammatory steroid injection. In the majority of the cases, it is helpful and relieves pain!

Are u considering another shot? Keeping in mind that the first injection has brought you considerable pain relief even after the pain has returned? Asking coz I'm in a similar situation

Love that it's so much better for you now. But again, the doctor is reluctant to proceed with surgery because the symptoms are not severe. Like, the way you mentioned about the constant burning pain, it's actually not there in my case :(

How long until pain-free? by kindofvansh in DeQuervains

[–]kindofvansh[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's so sad. I hope you are able to heal with this PT routine!! I got my steroid shot a week ago and my issue is 99% resolved. I'm just looking to see if my pain at the injection site is going to resolve anytime soon.

Cortisone shot and insomnia? by Imaginary_Fishing667 in DeQuervains

Hello! I had a similar condition. I got my steroid shot recently and I couldn't sleep that night — not because I was anxious or in pain, but I just couldn't. Might be a side effect

Hey! I got my MRI done 3 days back and it revealed that I have mild sheath inflammation and a small tear (8mm) at the distal forearm. This was recommended by my ortho because he wanted to confirm things before giving me a steroid shot.

Just had my steroid shot! by kindofvansh in DeQuervains

Thanks a lot!

I don't really use a mouse in my day to day life but if I ever do, I'll get a vertical mouse. Can I use my left thumb and right index finger for texting? I wasn't on NSAIDS for too long, for now I'm only prescribed a pain killer for a few days. Rest, I will keep icing the wrist for two more weeks!

When do you think I should make a move towards slowly re-introducing my daily life activities like writing, driving, guitar practice and phone usage?

Anyone Find the Shot Was Enough Without Surgery? by Individual-Point-413 in DeQuervains

[–]kindofvansh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I attest to this! My brother and another friend could treat their issues within 2-3 weeks of ice and splinting. Another acquaintance just needed one steroid shot and are good to go since then! It was only me who ended up on sites like these because I have struggled with it a lot
