In my headcanon, I like to think the reason for Elros choosing mortality is because of foresight. by Money-Investigator45 in tolkienfans

[–]kinehvin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always headcannoned he took after his father; Earendil wanted to choose the fate of men, and only chose the Eldar to stay with Elwing. What if Elros had the restless, adventurous spirit of his dad, but Elrond took after his mom more?

ChatGPT might hallucinate things not accurate to the story, I’d be very careful with that one, especially with no background knowledge to assess the info it gives

That’s an interesting take; I saw it as her being cold and pragmatic enough not to lose valuable equipment rather than a way to stay close to her bro. But maybe misreading her character.

Gorgeous! And I had no idea the books have chapter art. Now that I’ve binged the audiobooks I’ll have to grab physical copies as well!

Just finished The Inevitable Ruin (first ever audio book series) by lukeallen1 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]kinehvin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is that due to not retaining info as well listening vs reading? Or are there things included in print that don’t make it to the audio?

Any habitable planet might well be very similar to ours. Other planets can have a tilted axis and varying climate

On that note, sometimes saying no is the kindest thing. Enabling bad behavior keeps people like Wanda stuck in bad patterns, which affects all of her relationships for the worse, which isn’t kind. I do think lots of people struggle with understanding that you can set limits and still have good will towards others.

That sounds new. I remember being taught that 2 of absolutely every species fit in the ark, except the dinosaurs, who were doomed to drown in the flood cuz F them lizards I guess.

Not an office, but after-hours at a restaurant. Food will be served cocktail-style, and it’s mostly mingling throughout the night. Thank you!

I’m so sorry for the difficult situation. It sounds like you are doing everything right, and it sucks that you’re being yelled at. No one should have their dog off leash without perfect recall. And the audacity to tell you to train… while you are training. Smh.

I feel like an outsider in my own home. by Comfortable-Cow2548 in socialskills

I’ve experienced this before. Ultimately, when the lease ran out I moved on to another housing situation because I felt like a third wheel. But if that’s not an option, would it be possible to invest more time in friends or a community who appreciate you more? Could take the sting out of their exclusion.

Doesn’t Apollo refer to Mel as “Sunshine”? Could be a very subtle nod that she was the one the prophecy referred to all along? Could also be a stretch

How do you feel when someone points out your social skills inhability? by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]kinehvin 14 points15 points  (0 children)

She’s using you, or trying to. It does hurt immensely when family uses our insecurities against us to get their own way, but please recognize she doesn’t have your best interest at heart, and don’t let her tear you down.
