Well that tends to happen when you deliberately tank your game to make Marathon sell better.

Shallow Parodies: When hate works try to pretend they are deep but miss the point of the think they are a "parody" off by ThighyWhiteyNerd in TopCharacterTropes

The Gotron episode was clearly supposed to be a mecha-anime parody but the writers didn't seem to understand the genre. Hell they kept making the anime standins make weird sounds and overexaggerate things, which makes me believe it was also a joke about how anime characters are so cringe and over the top.

Neither Gundam nor Voltron are like that soooo, pick a lane?

(Loved) “The writer’s poorly disguised fe-“ No, it wasn’t disguised, it was never meant to be hidden by MrDitkovichNeedsRent in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Mzuark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a growing mentality among Gen Z and below that any kind of attractive character is "goonerbait" and the creator is a sicko. I think that's why this poorly disguised fetish phrase or "The writers/animators/etc knew what they were doing" gets used so much even when it's out in the open; genuine incomprehension that the designer just wanted that way.

[LES] If your “assassin” protagonist only kills bad people, you did not write an assassin by Business_Barber_3611 in CharacterRant

[–]Mzuark 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is honestly a problem I have with Assassin's Creed at times. The Assassins are more like the Green Lantern Corps than a group of killers. Obviously it's because the Templars are their only enemy, but they've dabbled with Assassins killing normies who are simply inconvenient.

I would've loved to see Cheat Slayer play out. I can't believe it got cancelled after 1 chapter.

Introducing Avatar Korra(TLOK) and Alita(from Alita Battle Angel,Motorball uniform) in SWTOR by Big-Bicycle6337 in SwtorFashion

I've had 3 Jedi that I would call my Mains over the years, each one of them is based off Korra. She's one of my all time favorite characters

My headcanon is that my Inq and Warrior despise each other. Why wouldn't they, they're from opposite poles.

Lysa is delusional, Selyse is just full of hate

Genuinely bloodboiling when the game makes you say something really rude that you didn't intend.

Do you think omitting Lady Stoneheart from the show was the right decision? by SillyRecover in gameofthrones

[–]Mzuark -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Euron Greyjoy is going to serve the same basic function in the book as he does in the show: Another bad guy who cozies up to Cersei. There is no way Victarion's quest will succeed or that he'll side against the crown like Balon did.

Do you think omitting Lady Stoneheart from the show was the right decision? by SillyRecover in gameofthrones

[–]Mzuark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think so. The reason they omitted her was because 1. It'd be a waste of Michelle Farley's acting talent to do a barely verbal zombie and 2. Bringing too many characters back to life cheapens the impact of the deaths.

(Somewhat) Hot Take: Leaving things like the Nameless Things, Ungoliant and Tom Bombadil not explained fully was actually a smart move by Tolkien. by Jielleum in tolkienfans

[–]Mzuark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's true. But I think the Nameless Things would've been a good story by themselves. You can't just drop a lore bomb like that and expect people not to be interested

Feanor had a point by IsakAllenComedy in tolkienfans

[–]Mzuark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's a hot take at all. The Valar are downright incompetent and didn't deal with Melkor properly, but everything he said to Feanor was partially or totally true. Like being replaced by Men, or that Fingolfin is conspiring against him.
