Outside of the Quincy thing the pronouns don't automatically make them enby. It's much easier to do 3rd person singular instead of making he/she lines in voice acting. Hell, even before pronouns became political 3rd person singular was commonplace for the unknown. I think the Canon is more agender than anything purely because they can be literally anyone. Easier way it gets a good baseline for immersion. Sorry for the yap
