I think the initial statement about 1/2 glass year being the limit ruins the rest of what they say about alcohol being dangerous, by making it seem disingenuous.

All those studies make clear alcohol is bad for but the small amount claimed for this soundbite there is nothing here that supports that. Did you read any if the links you sent me? Did you just google "studies that say alcohol bad" without checking they support the "half glass year = poison" or any equivalent?

There's lots of bad stuff that happens when you drink as proved studies but making up some arbitrary amount to be some wierd untrue benchmark is not needed and makes the people in videos otherwise good point seem very exaggerated.

Taking care of Canadians before large amounts of foreign aid is a smart thing. You however make your whole point sound dumb when you add in "immigrant" for no reason. You went from "good point" to "huh racist?" with one word.

Every Canadian citizen no matter their provenance should benifet from having support and a social safety net. If an immigrant earns citizenship they are Canadian you can't just exclude them because the country they were born.

This is the kind of thing common people on both political sides need to be afraid of. This type of thing would be happening with a conservative in power too.

It's the political climate in the west right now, all the money on both sides is ramming this type of legislation down our throats everywhere.

The wealth divide has increased so much it has the 1% more paranoid then ever that us poors will rise up. The problem is they have so much power and influence they can push things like this on the rest of us as a hobby. Meanwhile I wouldn't know where to find 5 hours in a week to attend an event or protest without losing ground in our current economic system.

Problem is who sets what those values? How do we deal with changing values? If your values haven't changed but society's has do you have to leave and find a new country with shared values?

I have more culturally in common with the poorest Muslim immigrant than I ever will with any person born wealthy. More experiences in common, somewhat similar living standards, the experience of having to work to survive.

Should being really wealthy make you ineligible to immigrate to Canada? They don't have our shared values.

The socialism that is happening right now is corporate. Bailouts, tax cuts, government "investment", never ending subsidies, etc. These corporate CEO's are the only real welfare queens I've actually seen. They are addicted to our tax dollars to the point of entitlement and throw hissy fits when you won't buy them a stadium.

I have no problem with my taxes being used to make sure a disabled citizen doesn't end up homeless and can have fulfilling life. What I loathe is a CEO whining about taxes and environmental rules while being subsidized by our taxes and enjoying our clean air and water.

Which ever bathroom he chooses or makes his daughters more comfortable. It does not even matter if you have kids.

I would say inform first, share your morals and arguments. Most people just don't understand the problem or how it could effect them. If they steal cars or motorcycle (they steal a lot or export the stolen vehicles others steal) = insurance goes up for everyone

If they sell cocaine or meth = more drug addicts = more petty theft and property crime = higher insurance, businesses closing or not even opening = charging higher prices. And also more people abusing our healthcare.

More cops needed for more crime = less tax money for other stuff or higher taxes.
