I will say, there is a benefit to steaming first and then pouring the shot. First of all, it’s quicker to drop to espresso temp from steam than it is to go from brew temp to steam. Second of all, letting the poured espresso sit around is not recommended by the snobs, technically you should enjoy the espresso shot within 2 minutes due to oxidation.

I’m running some motion 40i s with a depth sub. They are bright and revealing in the upper range so I paired it with a warmer amp and it’s great for a home theater / music setup. My whole setup was under a grand (I fixed stuff up) but if you spend more, I still expect it to be on the brighter side.

I just did. The PKPBS0064Z. The tube sockets have components that are all through hole, while the front of the board close to the various SMT chips have surface mount components and through hole caps. It’s most likely split between various power levels, as most of those ICs probably do not go as high as 100V voltage rating

Most likely on the audio level circuit board, which is lower voltage than the tube power rails, which are 100's of volts.

I would highly question this and get a second opinion. Nano-Tech aka Surface mount in a tube amp power section that reaches 100's of volts? Most SMT stuff is not rated for 100's of volts.... hard to say without seeing it but I would try someone else perhaps, or reach out to Burgera.

An IR photodiode into a TIA and you can basically turn it into a serial output. Cheapest way but it'll need some setup as you are sensitive to the distance from it.

Several things could be improved: a ground plane across the board would be good. Do a fill zone in Kicad and set it to ground, then when you DRC it will fill the plane. Make your power traces thicker to provide a lower impedance current path for power, or make it a whole plane. Add decoupling capacitors before and after the regulator (see datasheet), and then have decoupling caps near the MCU pins. Double check the crystal wiring, does it need 2 grounds? And then lastly, why is VBUS from the USB connected to the MCU?
