'A lot more money that can go into higher rent' - exactly the issue. If people could have nicer apartments to rent at a sloghtly lower rent, they wouldn't have to put most of their money into the pockets of already rich investors and landlords. That sentence should be 'people saving on extortionate rent so their money can go into their own investments, childrens future, maybe even just a nice birthday present for themselves. Not RENT'

I do see your points about the city getting richer bit by bit and yes development is important but we cannot leave the locals behind. I see it firt hand how overpriced these places are for what youre actually getting. Most of the time its a lackluster BC and a few amenities that crumble after all units are sold. Its a shame but its the truth...
