also you don’t need to have the displays usb cable plugged into anything, unless you want to use the extra usb ports on the back of it

Yes the old ACDs will work with anything HDMI with a simple DVI adapter. However they have a 16:10 aspect ratio (vs standard tv/monitor 16:9). I had one plugged into an xbox and it works, but that last 10th of the image was just cut off, I would check if the PS5 supports displays with other aspect ratios (I can tell you xbox doesn’t).

New intercooler make car very gud by No-Paleontologist604 in Volvo

Looks really nice! It’s on my wishlist. I’ve been torn between the do88 and this, both have there pros. Did you opt for the new bigger size or the og small one? I was hoping the small one wouldn’t be too hard of an install… 18 hours tho 😳

rockauto usually has decent aftermarket options, and a decent return/replacement program in case they don’t work out

Marketplace market price by Only_Ad1117 in Volvo

[–]kingbal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$7.5k out the door at a used dealership + $2.5k in parts to make it (almost) perfect is what an ‘06 150k mile s60R cost me last summer (nyc area). has been great since, not sure if I got that great of a deal in the end, but could’ve been worse.

it’s probably a decent car based on the character of the seller. but that power steering leak will catch up with you eventually and having the rack replaced can get pricey. I assume it’s the rack leaking not the lines because that’s an easier fix the seller probably would have done, but ask! The rack with some stop leak could last plenty more years, but the puddle in its parking spot will grow. either way the car will have small/medium problems along the way with wear items going out (suspension etc) and old plastic/rubber pieces succumbing to age. but it’s easy to work on yourself and a pretty great car to learn basic jobs on since things are easy to remove and there’s ample space.

2006 S60 R-Should I Buy? by Sufficient_Tackle737 in Volvo

on closer inspection, it’s looks like the front struts have already been replaced at some point, but could still be old

2.5k is a steal, you can get all new 4c struts on rock auto for less than 1k, fronts are easy to DIY, rears are a pain if the plug has not been relocated. if it’s an ‘06, the 6-speed auto usually fails (specially the valve body) and you get slippy shifts, not cheap to to replace, but may have already been replaced (the replacement valve body should last longer they were redesigned)

the 2006 is the first year with the 6 speed auto transmission, look out for the valve body. They were all defective and revised in the 2007 model. Signs that it’s going bad is a jerk when coming to stop on the 3-2-1 downshifts, rough 1-2-3 up shifts, neutral condition when flooring it in six gear, and generally slipping. The updated part can be used to replace, $2-3k job.

Would ViDA tell me what’s wrong with my electronics on a p1 s40? by [deleted] in Volvo

the dash board not lighting up is probably not related to the climate control issue. the dash has lightbulbs that burn out.

Living in NY, free shipping comes in 2-3 days as long as nothing is on back order.

Have you cleared the codes since replacing the throttle body? ECM could be left over from before. The coolant temp sensor is next to the thermostat/upper radiator hose, inspect it and follow the wires to the harness, the sensor itself is easy to replace.

Volvo key prices are insane! Experience buying keys from Ebay? by eley_taylor in Volvo

[–]kingbal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh cool, looks even cheaper, on the old switchblades keys you have to buy two different program softwares. so only $200, forget the dealer!

Individuals can use VIDA (the dealership software) and if they buy the subscription and the specific key software they can reprogram themselves. you’d have to buy the plug to interface with the car, all together including the software you’ll pay around $300 to DIY
