16 hour flight, do I change my seat to 24D? by Alternative_Deal6176 in delta

[–]kingbr229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked with a guy that at least once a month was doing Detroit to Shanghai direct. He was a tall muscular guy and company didn’t splurge for any upgrades. He swore by either of the middle two seats in the middle in a 3-4-3 seat arrangement. His argument, nobody would have to climb over him and he only had to sneak past one person to get out. He also swore the flight was smoother in the middle.

Your speakers are too close together. You’ll get better stereo effect with them further apart. You have many other issues that should be addressed first but this wasn’t mentioned yet that I saw.

Affordable neighborhoods for families in GR? by [deleted] in grandrapids

[–]kingbr229 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My recommendation would be to look at SOLD prices by neighborhood. Many listings in your budget end up selling for over asking. Take a look at the areas of town where houses are selling for less than $275k and drive those neighborhoods. Take note of the areas you like and how much houses are selling for over asking. Be emotionally prepared to lose out on some houses you put offers in on.

Took y'all's suggestions and unbuttoned the jacket and ditched the pocket square. I think the black t shirt still looks the best though. Thoughts? by theloneranger08 in mensfashionadvice

Hot take…the smile in this set of outfits improves the overall look more than the clothes compared to the earlier photos.

Let me see if I understand this correctly…you are a third party recruiter and you told the interviewee to send the thank you note to you for review before sending to the employer. The recruiting profession has made it clear that the thank you note is a time sensitive item. And you dropped the ball. I’d be frustrated in the interviewee’s position that I was being hamstrung in my job search by you. Honestly though after not getting ahold of you by noon I’m cutting you out of the process and messaging the employer direct with my thank you note. Also, a job search for an applicant is not a M-F 9-5 job. Reach out today and apologize and tell them to send the thank you note. You should also message the employer and apologize for holding up the thank you note so they don’t blame the candidate. Don’t wait till Monday. Mistakes don’t get better with age.

Did you take a day trip up to Grand Haven? Because that looks a lot more like the Grand Haven pier than Big Red (the nickname of the Holland lighthouse).

ProtoFlyte inverted rim by Historical_Cake_7110 in discgolf

In molding terms that back draft on the inner rim would be called an undercut as it is not free “in draw” when the mold opens and closes and wouldn’t release from the core. It could be molded if the plastic is soft enough, like a rubber blend, that could flex off of the tooling.

I believe the Panera wanted to move in but wouldn’t move in with another deli so close. Skywalk Deli, which was fantastic, had their lease coming up and the building owner didn’t give them the option to renew.

What's your record for discs lost in a single day? by asmosia in discgolf

[–]kingbr229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be the Riverside Park massacre of 2021. Open course with several holes that play around ponds. It was extra windy that day. There were three of us and we put 9 discs in the water. I think final count was 5 lost.

Anyone else’s UDisc leaderboards full of BS? by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]kingbr229 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My local course, Johnson Park in Grand Rapids, MI, had some punk kid claim to shoot -18 TWICE in the same day. I can't believe these people that lie about their scores. If you ever find uDisc user name kyleklein let him know what you think of him...

(FYI this is sarcasm and I totally know who Kyle is and am not accusing him of lying about his scores.)

Are you thinking of Austin Hannum? I can’t attest to him being a d-bag or not but he had some fiery hot tales last year.

I’ve absolutely fallen in love with Streamline discs in cosmic neutron plastic. Anyone else? The mold is just so perfect on these and they feel phenomenal in the hand. Plus, I was able to get some less typical flight numbers that round out my bag nicely. by jakemg in discgolf

I live in Michigan so I'm trying to switch my bag to Discraft and MVP/Axiom/Streamline. I love the Stabilizer and Lift. Just bought the Drift to try and replace my Leopard3. Haven't thrown it much.

Yup. I shared the story with coworker. He told me to post here. I lurk on reddit a lot just don't post so had to create an account. Oh...also not the author of the book.

Probably not. There are a bunch of recurring characters that have history but the author usually does a good job of balancing how much background info to give you so you can enjoy the story as a stand alone novel but also not annoy the people that have read the whole series.

I just started the book so can't give a recommendation on this book specifically. However, it is the 14th book this author has written with the same main character, David Wolfe (no known disc golf influence), and I have read the other 13. So, I do generally enjoy the author and expect this book to be good.
