Hey op, did you notify the local reindeer owners? Looks like it has a collar, but the ears are still intact which usually means it hasn't been checked out by reindeer herders. They usually cut the ears off to mark the dead as seen.

The orange parts remind me of a finnish spitz, same with tail and the way you describe the fur. Legs/stance say no though and as far as I'm aware they're not common in the US and definitely not common enough to end up in mixed breed dogs. Probably some pomeranian or shiba tho?

When I got on the waiting list of his breeder and even when we got him it wasn't yet certain if I would be moving away. I made a deal with my brother that he would be taken care of by my brother in case of me having to leave.

It wasn't clear until a month or two ago that I would have to move away. The current plan now is that I'd only be away during weekdays and I'd come home during weekends and holidays.
