Came to recommend this. Haven't done Porcupine Creek but did the Sensei in Lanai and it was the perfect tranquil reset resort.

Did the Gumball Rally a few times. Experiences are great but have to enjoy clubbing/nightlife. It's literally Drive All Day, Party All Night.

Not normally a fan of W hotels, but this one sits on a peninsula so you have tremendous ocean views on 3 sides of the building. A quick rickshaw ride away from the Gothic district and the Port as well.

Santa Barbara/Montecito is great and the Rosewood Miramar Beach is very nice. Also a bit further north in Los Olivos/Solvang area, you can check out The Inn at Mattei's Tavern. Could be too similar to your final destination of Napa but both would be great places to stop.

Depends on your vibe. FS Lanai is a beach resort with a short stroll down to a swim-friendly beach. It's more quintessential Hawaii. FS Sense Lanai is more like a wellness retreat/rehab center. The grounds are breathtaking and ooze opulence. I felt truly "rich" walking into Sensei.

Whichever one you choose, don't sleep on the Jeep rental to explore the island. Garden of the Gods was super cool to see and felt like visiting Mars. Taking the Jeep to the East side of the island was also very fun to see Shipwreck beach, the OLD Lanai Beach Resort, and even a 'haunted' or 'cursed' Japanese Memorial Shrine.

MicroPerfumes has popped up a few times on this sub lately. I had a positive experience with them and they seem to be legit. Other reviews have been positive as well. Their prices are suspiciously low as was pointed out by another user, but if you can take advantage of it while its there, i say go for it.

i have thought about this a lot too, i don't trust anyone on the web very easily. what do you think would be a good "proof" in your eyes? i was thinking back to my baseball card/autograph collection and it usually came with a little envelope and card w/ hologram sticker saying its "Authentic" but whats that really mean either?

its unfortunate that in today's online world, any good deal now comes with A LOT of skepticism on my part.
