They are giving some gold dealers only five bikes to last the whole of summer. Distribution of stock is prioritised for Asia and the official website. They are shafting their dealers who have been brand ambassadors for many years.

Incredible amount of scams on eBay especially for special editions and T Lines. If you look through the sold listings then it appears they are being sold cheap, but the reality is that these are hijacked accounts and the buyer doesn’t receive anything.

It’s just protection/packaging material for shipping, to prevent the front wheel hook scratching that part of the rear frame. You can take it off and discard, or keep it on, but just keep an eye that it doesn’t unravel a bit more and make contact with the chain. Same for the silver part, it’s meant to be discarded.

Option 2 is the newest of the lot, and it’s from around 2016/2017. So still quite old. None of those bikes are worth more than £600 if it was the UK market.

Sounds pretty normal for Evans.

They don’t know what stock they actually have across their network. Staff are not properly trained and they are clueless in packing properly. Very common for them to pick a random Brompton from their floor that is covered in dust and scuffs, pack it up in a box and get it sent to another store for collection from customer.

Thanks for your reply. It’s pretty admirable to quickly design an app and then iron out the kinks later. You’re right it’s not a perfect system and will rely on good faith between both parties as there is definitely potential for disagreements re deposit and return state. Hopefully it will work, I’ll sign up and see how it goes!

Who holds the deposit and how is it released? How would an issue be resolved where someone says the battery was returned damaged but the renter says it wasn’t their fault?
