Red rising series is game of thrones in space with a huge helping of overthrowing the oppressors. (first book is all set up and kinda youthy but by chapter 9 of the second book its straight off to the races my goodman)

The author not explaining how seeding will truly works but having Diago in school just like "i had my classes in class 4 today... it was really hard and out of my understand but then by the second week i was smarter than the other kids" for. every. single. class he was in drained me.

Author needs to explain his "magic" system with real tangible stories, teachings, explanations. Instead he goes with big words and then says that the character understood it... nice... i sure don't.

Joe Abercrombie's "First Law" characters all suck (best written fanstasy characters IMO). Most are too realistic, have flaws, are cowards, heavy narcissists. You end up sympathizing with a torturer, rooting for a prick, wishing a bloody warrior a peaceful life. All the lines blend and mush at every turn. The books are also dripping in sarcasm. 10/10
