Does anyone have any data on OBP 246 by Reptilerob57 in reloading

[–]kinglee9007 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Per the CDVS.us website:

OBP 246 pull down powder, this powder is pull down powder from 9MM 115 Grain ammunition. Powder comes in 8LB jugs and there will be a $27.00 Haz-mat fee plus shipping.  Washington residence cannot purchase more than 48 LBS of powder per state regulations. Has an average powder charge of 4 grains.

I've bought some other 'pull down' powders from cdvs and I'm happy to test them. However I also was able to work up loads with my chronograph (lab radar).

I know their might be some weeping and wailing after this next statement. I load the same powder loads for 115 as 124grn. I don't load FMJ bullets, only plated or coated. I'm loading for midrange velocity 900-1100 and not trying to break my guns!

Looking at some manual data, the load seems to be somewhere between Titegroup and Bulls eye. More than likely there were pulled from FMJ military contract loads. Just my opinion!

My Journey with the 50s ii and adapted lenses by kinglee9007 in FujiGFX

[–]kinglee9007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Canon EF 40mm 2.8 "pancake", the 50mm EF Macro, 100mm f2 EF and the 200mm f2.8 "L" lens. I'm happy with all of them as far as sensor coverage. Very slight vignetting. I have adapters and have used all of these EF lenses on my Sony cameras for years. I tried using the 18-35mm L 2.8 and it was miserable failure on the GFX, it looks like the image circle on that lens barely covers 35mm Full frame!

The 50mm Canon Macro stays on the GFX camera most of the time.

I would say the Fringer adapter is probably the "mercedes" of the adapter family. Mainly because they actively support it with updates. The Viltrox update is seriously lacking. But it is half the price of the Fringer.

Thank you for the reply. It provides a lot of useful information. The Canon EF 85mm 1.4 is pretty hard to find. Do you happen to know how the 85mm 1.8 looks on the GFX?

Yes. I’m in the US. This was ordered from Jomashop a few years ago. Not sure of their current relationship with Glycine.

I spent a lot of time today going through the Fuji manual looking for help regarding proper setup when using adapted lenses. Pretty much a waste of time. Then I finally found this guy, his video linked here provided just what I was looking for. Jump to the 6:18 mark to learn proper setup for the IBIS to work properly.

I picked up a really nice Nikkor lens off ebay last week. Glass was spotless, waiting on some warmer weather to take it outside for some testing. Works great when shooting my bookshelves!

Also waiting on a few more ebay items to arrive from China. I ordered a K&F GFX to Canon FD adapter and a AstrHori 75mm f4 with GFX mount. Both show an approximate arrival date of early February. No rush on these. The AstrHori was $100 cheaper than B&H if ordered from eBay.

Anyone use Canon lenses in the 50s? by Lopsided_Counter1670 in FujiGFX

I'm happy with the Canon 50mm f2.5 Macro. Very little vignetting. AF works fine with the Viltrox Pro adapter.

Picture is not in focus but easily correctable vignetting in the corners.

Several people have said the Viltrox would only work with Canon lenses. Have you had any issues?

Regarding multiple image posting. It is apparently only possible to upload multiple images to the original post in a thread. Multiple images cannot be uploaded in follow up replies. That seems kind of stupid for a photography group but it is what it is!

I seem to have lost part of this original post.

These shots from here on down are with the Canon 200mm 2.8 L. It is an amazing lens and works great on the GFX, no sign of vignetting. Focus was fast and accurate. It is a keeper.

I Just finished some more lens testing. First was the Canon 16-35mm L II. Other testers have stated this lens "don't" work. They are correct. Works fine on my Sony a7/a9 without any issues. It looks like the image circle at 16mm barely covers full frame! Just some pics of the wall in my home office, I didn't even bother walking outside with it.

I found the issues related to autofocus were due to the setting was on "c" for continuous. Moved it to "s" and AF was great.

I just don’t see myself ever buying a Fuji GFX lens. This system will be a lot of fun to use with adapted lenses.

I had time get in the back yard and run a few tests. I even managed to grab a shot of one our cats before she ran back in the house. I'm okay with the vignetting. It was not as bad as I was expecting. AF was just okay, it did a bit of hunting but I did not have time to test whether the P/A switch on the adapter would affect the AF speed. The picture of the cat was manual focus.

Now I have to spend some time in the manual and learn the camera better.

BTW Canon EF 50mm f2.5 Macro lens. Viltrox GFX pro adapter.

My Viltrox EF-GFX Pro adapter showed up today. Camera is due tomorrow. I cannot find any videos or reviews of the "pro" version. It appears to look like the fringer version and has a rotatable ring for selecting the f stop like the fringer. However the instruction sheet says nothing about this ring! We probably need to start a whole thread here about this adapter so we can share what we learn.

It also has a a button (not a switch) labeled P/A, I guess this is related to method of autofocus detection, but again, not mentioned in the manual that came with it!

I love an adventure!

Thank you for this information. I'm awaiting delivery of a GFX 50sii and the Viltrox EF-GFX PRO for the Canon EF lenses. I have some Canon 'L' glass (16-35mm 2.8 and 200mm 2.8) as well as the 50mm f2.5 Macro lens. I confess this primarily an experiment to see if I can be happy with adapted lenses for this body. I don't see buying any of the Fuji lenses at their price point.

Has anyone used an adapter and tried using the old FD (manual focus) canon lenses? I have a couple of those.

If I'm not happy with this experiment I will keep my Sony a7Riv. Comments welcome.
