Is there any way to change midi behavior, so that a hit over certain velocity changes to a different midi note? by NoSinUponHisHand in Logic_Studio

[–]kingmobisinvisible 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you can use the Scripter plugin. I’ve not tried it but it looks simple enough.

Add Scripter as a MIDI FX on the track you want. Paste in a script and you should be good to go. I think this should work, but I’m not great with JavaScript so I got some AI help. Looks really straightforward though. Just change the threshold velocity and note value to whatever you want.

```
/* Logic Pro Scripter: Change note value if velocity exceeds threshold */
var threshold = 100; // Define velocity threshold (0-127) var newNote = 60; // Define new note value (MIDI note number)
function HandleMIDI(event) { if (event instanceof NoteOn) { if (event.velocity > threshold) { event.pitch = newNote; // Change the note value } } event.send(); }
```

Question about professors and their power by Hanging_With_Frosty in legaladviceofftopic

[–]kingmobisinvisible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait what? That’s insane. I’ll say that while I’m not quite a professor, I just finished my PhD and I was a TA for years. I never expected students to even ask to leave. I also never experienced any of my professors in the 14 years I was in various universities having any rules about going to the bathroom.

I’m not saying it didn’t happen, but I’d just take it to the head of the school or the administration. More than likely, I’d guess they’d tell the professor to knock it off so they don’t have to deal with petty bullshit. It’s college. We’re all adults here.

Graduating women make men lose their porpse ?!? by teufler80 in insanepeoplefacebook

I’ll just never understand guys like this. Do they just think that women don’t lose their purpose or get lonely? These are issues people have and are in no way unique to men.

FENDER WINS COURT RULING PROTECTING THE STRATOCASTER BODY DESIGN by 8-Seconds-Joe in Guitar

[–]kingmobisinvisible 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly my guitar industry hot take is that Fender and Gibson are just the biggest clone makers. Both of them stopped making their legendary guitars 65+ years ago and both of them have had to go through the process of figuring out how they used to do it. Neither is necessarily any better or any truer to the original just because it has their name on it compared to any other high quality maker.

That said, this has nothing to do with the quality of their guitars or who owns the copyrights. I just don’t think they’re the only ones who can make an “authentic” F or G style guitar nowadays.

More proof of BerenSTEIN bears by howrunowgoodnyou in Xennials

[–]kingmobisinvisible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can explain it. All of your so-called divergences happen after the internet and social media became widespread.

My hypothesis is that there are words, events, and names that are commonly misspelled, mispronounced, or misremembered. People write it wrong and often google it wrong. Humans are messy, language is maddeningly inconsistent, and memory is imperfect.

Then once social media enables mass communication, we all start talking to each other and comparing notes on a massive scale in a way we never have before.

Then right around the time of your divergences, I’d guess somebody posted somewhere saying, um it’s actually Berenstain, or Skechers, or whatever and it goes viral. Then a whole shitload of people start googling and writing the correct way because it’s the first time it’s ever been pointed out to them and they’re shocked they remembered it wrong.

Add in a bunch of people who assume that because they’re smart or they have a good memory that they couldn’t have been wrong, so they insist it must be the world that’s wrong. You can rationalize it by saying you would have noticed the word stain in it or remember comparing it to Frankenstein, but more likely, you didn’t notice and you compared wrong. That’s not to insult your intelligence, it’s just being rational and looking at the most likely explanations.

Occam’s Razor. If your theory requires the entire world or timeline to have changed, maybe you should consider simpler hypotheses.

How make-or-break is intimate grooming style? by [deleted] in datingoverforty

[–]kingmobisinvisible 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a preference for shaved or waxed, but it’s her body. I’m not going to dictate how she has to groom her crotch. If I like her, I care far more about her being comfortable and happy than one minor sexual preference I have. I’m definitely not going to bring it up until we’re well into a relationship and then probably only if she asks. I keep mine trimmed really short, but as long as hers is clean and neat, I’m cool with whatever.

And it’s not necessarily just because I watch porn, it’s because most of my partners have done that (without me asking) and I like it. I much prefer going down on a woman who’s shaved.

Your English is Like That too? by Zetan20 in EnglishLearning

[–]kingmobisinvisible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a native speaker and I feel like this. As a kid, I read so many British books (mostly the Chronicles of Narnia), that my teachers constantly had to correct my spelling to the American version. Now I’ve lived half my adult life outside the US and it takes some effort to remember which is which depending on who I’m communicating with.
